BCR Greg Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Handmade in heart of Houston, Texas, by guys that live by the same credo as Hamer....Make it RIGHT, or don't make it. When this body style was finalized, I proceeded to bug Dave to make me a Junior. He had to mount the neck, THEN add the center section to cover the tenon, since the neck pickup route usually occupies that area. Extra work with extra gain, as the guitar sounds fantastic with all the wood to wood contact and no route to reduce the tranfer of evergy. The body wood is Fakimba, very similar to Korina and feather light. Huge neck, of course. Build quality like we are used to....fantastic. Available, unless I move my Duotone 12 or BCR Junior first.
Rechts Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 I've been wanting an FB with that setup for years. One knob tho, to accomodate my technical IQ.Totally cool.
SteveB Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 They seriously need to change that headstock. Rest of the guitars cool though, in a "dali-esque" kinda way.
BCR Greg Posted July 30, 2007 Author Posted July 30, 2007 I can get them with Robin's regular headstock, no prob. I dig the 4 by 2 in person, tho it doesn't come across well in pics. The 3 by 3 looks too "normal" to me.Have it your way, order one!
Scottcrud Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 I'd love that with a single humbucker version like that...hhmmm, got a new band with Kurt from DRI singing, maybe I'll have to give Robin a call again, I used to have a "artist" deal with them when I was in deadhorse...
edgar_allan_poe Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 WTF is Fakimba? Is it a Mahogany? Cool guitar for sure.
BCR Greg Posted July 30, 2007 Author Posted July 30, 2007 Fakimba is nearly identical to Korina. If I showed you raw pieces of each, the only difference in that Fakimba is more gray/white than Korina, which has a warmer color to it.
BCR Greg Posted July 30, 2007 Author Posted July 30, 2007 Another one that I have in progress, showing the unfinished Fakimba.
frank_c Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 The body wood is Fakimba, is that similar to Fakifino? those look killer!
edgar_allan_poe Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 is that similar to Fakifino? biggrin.gifROTFLMAO!!!
Steve Haynie Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 That split Robin headstock looks right to me. It says, "ROBIN!!!" You can identify that design by its silhouette.
Jorge Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Those would look killer with a "Standard/Explorer Banana" Headstock.
kizanski Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Those would look killer with a "Standard/Explorer Banana" Headstock.Reverse.
Michael_ Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Those would look killer with a "Standard/Explorer Banana" Headstock.Reverse.+1.Pretty hot as it is, though. I caught wood.
kizanski Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Kiz.... Fleetwood with a reverse Ranger headstock.I asked Mr. Wintz last year.Reverse 6 in lines only on the boltons.
Guest Meshuggah Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 I asked Mr. Wintz last year. Reverse 6 in lines only on the boltons. Careful O'Hairy One. Your Freudian slip is showing. nyuk nyuk nyuk
jerseydrew Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 I have to admit, that guitar is hot, hot, hot!!! Not so thrilled with the headstock, but everything else is spectacular! I wish I could afford it. I'm afraid to ask how much Handmade in heart of Houston, Texas, by guys that live by the same credo as Hamer....Make it RIGHT, or don't make it.
