unfun 75 Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Ok, if you were stranded on a desert island with your mp3 player and endless battery power, what 6 songs would you choose to be on your setlist? Here's my attempt: 1. Anthrax "Safe Home"2. Jimmy Eat World "A Praise Chorus"3. Garth Brooks "I Don't Have to Wonder"4. Allman Brothers Band "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed (live)"5. Thin Lizzy "Cowboy Song (live)"6. The Smiths "There is a Light That Never Goes Out"My reasoning: these are 6 songs that I never get tired of listening to. Plus, I feel about every genre of music I enjoy is covered with these 6 songs. What would be your 6?
Zoner Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 1) Dream Theater - "Learning to Live" 2) Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - "Magnolia"3) Dada - "No One"4) Jeff Beck "Behind the Veil"5) Santana "Toussaint L'Overture"6) Temple of the Dog "Pushin' Forward Back"All these songs speak to me on a very deep, personal level. Some make me mellow, some make me warm and fuzzy, one of them grabbed me by the heart and made me want to play the guitar, and one of them makes me ball up my fists and bang my head with wild abandon. If I'm on an island, that's what I want my music to do - augment or change my mood as needed. And I could chop a lot of wood in a big hurry listening to the last 2! Too bad I couldn't opt for vinyl, though - MP3's sound like ass.Z
