hamertek98 Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 My last purchase/buy for a few years! I'd like to buy a Duotone! USA! I've got a few USA Hamer basses to trade.
santellavision Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I've been looking of one for a while too. No luck finding a good one yet. They seem to come in waves. Must be low tide.

polara Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 I've played the Duo on the gallery above. It is pretty amazing (as if that needs to be said).
JGale Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 PSA: Duotone advertised on the WeberVST BBS.NOT MINE. DO NOT KNOW THE SELLER.http://www.webervst.com/bns/messages/45188.html
DavidE Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 PSA: Duotone advertised on the WeberVST BBS.NOT MINE. DO NOT KNOW THE SELLER.http://www.webervst.com/bns/messages/45188.html$1100 for a 3 hole? Isn't that high? And comparison to the price of a new one that is a completely different animal? Seems like apples and oranges to me.
DavidE Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 What IS the going rate on a sunburst 3 hole these days?
veatch Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 What IS the going rate on a sunburst 3 hole these days? $1100 Only if it actually sells... Edited to add original quotes...
DavidE Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 What IS the going rate on a sunburst 3 hole these days? $1100 Only if it actually sells... Edited to add original quotes... Seems like a nice guy. He'll take less. Jim's answer is interesting, but it's certainly different from the responses when EAP was asking a couple of weeks ago when he was looking to buy. I tend to agree with Camstone's assessment that a sunburst 3 hole is probably an $800 guitar. More for something rare like P90s, black, cherry, gold etc....

Feynman Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 There is a reddish sunburst 3-holer at the GC in Scottsdale that has been hanging on the wall for as long as I can remember (which is about 6 months typically). I think they want $900, but would probably take much less since the salesman said I'm the only person who has ever even asked about it. It's not mint and pristine by any measure, but it looks pretty good as I recall.
santellavision Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 There is a reddish sunburst 3-holer at the GC in ScottsdaleI just called the Scottsdate store and it's gone. I even asked twice as those Bozo's passed me around until someone finally knew what it was. If you by chance stop by there again, let me know if you still see it - Thanks!

santellavision Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 So, I called the Scottsdale store back late today and they guy asked me what was going on and why were all these people calling today??? He had a ton of calls about it all day, even from other GC's employees asking about it. I guess the forum is followed pretty well!!!

My bass player works at GC and when I saw the post I asked him to see if he could get it for me.
santellavision Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I just bought the one on the Weber forum. And from speaking with him and his pics, it looks near mint. $950 shipped, not too bad as there are very few out there for sale. (A Birthday present to myself today) Now off to BCR for the Greg-mod.
