David B Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Shit, that was sweet! I very well may have bought that if it wasn't already gone. It looked like 12 fret Hamer inlays too (close together).
serial Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Crap-I can't see it (blocked here)! Anyone have the pic they can post that's not an eBay link?
serial Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 THANKS JAYE! That's cool-looks like some of the GMP ones.
cmatthes Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Description here:Incredible hand built, Custom Shop tone and quality! Built by Jason DuMont, builder of the super cool Lap King steel guitars. Click HERE to learn more about these gorgeous instruments. DuMont is also known as a builder in Hamer's Custom Shop. Taking the Hamer ethos of relentless attention to detail and craftsmanship to new levels, this Dumont guitar is a treat for the eyes and ears. The body is genuine Korina just like the original 58 Flying V's and Explorers. Korina is well known for its incredible tone and gorgeous looks not to mention its rarity and price tag. The neck is also Korina and features a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard. A trio of Seymour Duncan soapbar P-90's deliver awesome growl. The middle pickup can be blended in using a unique concentric pot. An adjustable wraparound bridge gives big time sustain while Grover tuners keep it rock solid. A clear lacquer finish graces the space age body shape while a tortoise shell pickguard dresses it up. The finish is thin and sunken into the grain for a great vintage vibe. A great guitar with unique looks and handcrafted quality!
jisham Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I really like the headstock setup with the 2/4 tuner configuration.
bubs_42 Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Man that was a nice one, sorry I missed out on that one.
JimmyOnions Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Man, I missed ANOTHER one! Hi new member here. I have tried to win 3 other of this guys guitars on ebay. I emailed him to see if he'd do a custom and he said he was only making lap steels and told me I should buy a Hamer USA and said I should keep my eye on the Hamer Fan Club for a good used one. So I come here and I see THIS thread I can't win. Oh well. I have a couple pics of others I lost on I'll try and attach them: Some guy in Belgium got them cuz he posted some clips on youtube under lap king firebird I think I'm gonna get one of those Vectors in korina

peedenmark7 Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 aaaahh, the good ole dremel tool... theres a humbucker route to be had in every guitar with that baby with the demise of gmp, and jacksons ..... well fenders non compete policy with gibson, theres really nobody doing a bird other than the evil empire.... rand will build one ... if you wanna send money to poland or wherever they are.. i hear they make a nice guitar, but theres something about buying a non usa made guitar that doesnt work for me...especially paying usa made prices for an eastern block piece. slim pickens these days...my interest wanes collecting in a big way
