BubbaVO Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Nice top on that one.Is it chambered? If so, what does that coupled with the routing for the Floyd end up doing to the tone?
LordOfTheThighs Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Looks a lot like Murkat's. Awesome top on it.

Armitage Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Was that factory? It looks killer.Judging by the slightly off center look of the Floyd, I'd think it was routed for a Schaller (cast body) Floyd and had the longer Floyd Rose Original swapped in later.

It sits off to the right like a Floyd Rose Original does in a Schaller route and there isn't any routing for the long screws on the bottom, (the Schaller uses shorter screws).

It appears to set off to the right because the guitar is rotated. that photo is just a closeup of this photo - same angle and position.
MCChris Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 These links seem to bolster Armitage's argument that the bridge has been replaced:http://www.chrisguitars.com/hamer92diablo-green4.jpghttp://audiozone.dk/index-filer/TremoloInf...ect.htm#jt580http://audiozone.dk/index-filer/TremoloInf...ect.htm#jt580lp

Ted Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I love The Standards and the top on this one is gorgeous, but for some reason a Floyd on a Standard doesn't fit for me aesthetically. Is it comfortable to play with a Floyd? Also, is tapping pretty easy and comfortable on a Standard?
Armitage Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I've never played a Floyded Standard, and I'm not much of a tapper, but my Standards all have really thin frets and don't really do the Hammer/Anvil thing as well for me as larger frets do. I'm sure more skilled tappers could respond better though.
murkat Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 yup, that is my ole' custom ordered standard. That did not last long.... interesting.......
