Pieman Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Seller can't say if the PUs are originalA risky buy I thinkhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...E:X:RTQ:US:1123
zorrow Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Nice top, no binding and just the basic features needed to rock. I like it A LOT --but feel free to bid; I'm not in this time.
Pieman Posted June 11, 2009 Author Posted June 11, 2009 I dunno The pick ups look too white as compared to the rings. I'll pass, so bid away.
BubbaVO Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I dunno The pick ups look too white as compared to the rings. I'll pass, so bid away.Hmmm...I wonder how a pair of Gregwinds would sound with that.
carfish7 Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Looks like a one piece top. You thinking about re-Vectoring yourself, Bob? That looks pretty fine to me, I'd be happy to slap it around some. That is 30 year old Honduran Mahogany that doesn't look to have been busted or hideously abused, just enthusiastically rocked for a couple decades +. And it was made by those Hamer guys in IL. back in the day. Could be screamer, and I'm not convinced the pickups are wrong either. Lots of reasons for them to look that way in a semi-crappy pic. I'm pretty sure these guys (sellers) are semi-guitar-literate pawn shop operators. Might be too lazy to pull a pickup, and you might not want to encourage them to take tools to said vintage Hamer in the first place . Just my impression. Z
Lockbody Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Looks like a one piece top.You thinking about re-Vectoring yourself, Bob?ZNah, I'm firmly back in the 25.5" scale length camp.
zorrow Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Well, I wouldn't care that much about the pups. At the very end these old Vectors aren't very appreciated on the collector's market. They're just PLAYERS, so if the pups aren't originals and sound bad, just throw in a pair of whatever makes it for you and you'll be rocking in no time.
cmatthes Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I think somebody needs to pick up another FL lottery ticket...
