It's rumored to be an outdoor sweatfest with lotsa LOUD rock and a coupla Hamers maybe.... GO JOE !! GO JOE !!! GO JOE !!!
discountsounds Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 One of my bands, Nine Fifty, is playing at BenFest in Chicago this Sunday, July 17 at 4:30pm. It's an outdoor festival for St. Benedict's on Irving Park Road two blocks west of Damon. Lots of family fun and of course, good music! I'll be debuting my new Eclipse for sure!http://www.stbenedict.com/html_parish/benfest.shtmlIf anyone from the board happens by, be sure to say hi after the show.
Jon_Press Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Laura (who - for those of you don't know - is my wife and the owner of some way kewl Hamers) is going to open for Adrian Belew at The Downtown in Farmingdale NY next Tuesday 7/19/05. I know that there is a thread about it, but it is to cool to not repeat.BTW, contrary to recurring inferences, I too own a couple of Hamer basses (that I play both poorly and rarely - I am mainly a drummer).
earachemyeye Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Hey Eric, you forgot to mention that YOUR IN THE BAND TOO. Come see Eric play everybody. Nevermind the other guy over there trying to hide his sagging man-titsbehind his Hamer. Gotta get me a bigger geetar.Joe
m chops Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Playing at a private party in Fairview Park on Saturday. We're even getting paid!
Stike Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 One of my old cover bands from YEARS ago is reuniting at Michael's Bar and Grill (Chapel Hill NC) this Saturday at 8:00 PM. We lost our other guitarist to L. Ron Hubbard and tried to get Brooks to join in the festivities but he's got free liqour to drink at an office party. He prolly just doesn't wanna lower his standards and play with idgits like us. Anyway we will have noregard for any drunk girls who wanna hear Brown Eyed Girl, no cash for us so it's horns up, mo cowbell, rock out with yer cock out, devil rock all the way. AC/DC, Brother Cain, Cult, Halen, Supersuckers, etc.
cmatthes Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Damn. Now, when would I have to leave the DE beaches to get to Chapel Hill in time? I used to make that trip in 7 hours ten years ago.Hmmm...
Hamer95USA Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Hey HFC crew, I'll be performing today at the Berkeley BART Plaza at Shattuck & Center Ave. in downtown Berkeley from 12pm to 1pm. It's an event for the Berkeley Downtown Assoc. and it's going to be fun (plus we're getting paid) to perform outdoors to the general public. Any of the northern California Hamer fans are invited. Hamer guitars in action!! Guitar George
m chops Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Anyway we will have no regard for any drunk girls who wanna hear Brown Eyed Girl, Man, that's the one song I am really trying to get under my fingers for saturday, since it was requested by our hostess. It's really hard to develop muscle memory when you're old!
Brooks Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 tried to get Brooks to join in the festivities but he's got free liqour to drink at an office party. He prolly just doesn't wanna lower his standards and play with idgits like us. not true, i woulda loved to play w/ you idjits (i'm high, but my standards are not!). stike sent me a cd of some of their orignal tunes w/ a note on it apologizing for how lame the tunes were, ha. but i listened to it and thought it was pretty good stuff (really!).the office party is a paid gig for me & daves acoustic duo, and yes, we might play brown eyed girl. dave & i are also at keegans pub in g'boro nc tonight.
lonote049 Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Cool Disposition will be at the Whiskey Junction on Friday night from 9:30 - 1:30. The club has recently changed ownership and the new owners are giving traditional blues a chance! Dave Hupp from (roots music artist) Rockie's band will be tickling the ivories. Hey Joe and Eric...what time do you guys hit the stage on Saturday? I'm not familiar with the Blacksmith Lounge but since it's in Hugo, it'll be hard to miss.
Hackubus Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Woohoo Stike! Let's hear it for the Devil Rock! We're playing Friday @ Roxie's Roost in Tahlequah OK. Our 1st set has most of the devil music in it. We're doing a Devil/Hell theme for a few songs. Gonna run Shout @ the Devil, Highway To Hell & The Devil Went Down To Georgia up their arses at the end of it.
tgoss Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 The The Jersey Shades will be at The Firehouse in Rahway, NJ on Saturday night. A Hamer will be present.

earachemyeye Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Greg, glad to hear the blues are back! I've gotta come out to see you guys. As for showtime, I've not heard yet. Should know by tomorrow night so I'll post it here then.Joe
Dry Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Wells Fargo Lounge Fri-Sat in Moline Il.12 strings out de ass!
earachemyeye Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Greg, in case you can make it, we'll be playing around 7ish. The bar is about 5 miles north of Hugo's teeming metropolis. Thanks.Joe
lonote049 Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 I'll do my best. Bruce McBride stopped by my gig at the Whiskey last night and he was considering stopping out to see you guys tonight, also. My advice is to load up on the Gatorade. I don't think I ever felt as drained after a gig as I did last night. Playing in a club with shitty air conditioning or playing outside in this 90+ heat is really taxing!
eightyfour Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Taking a well-deserved break following an insane week of recording, playing and unmentionbles in the Phoenix area.Tons of stuff coming up in August, including our first ever 'unplugged' session in Tacoma. More to come. Missed ya'll, hope everyone is well.
tomteriffic Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Myself and Most Esteemed Redhead will be appearing as employees of the Acme Moving and Storage Company at Chez Norman, (both old and new) as well as at the North Dixie Self Storage for the next six weeks or so. After that, we will resume our usual guise of Spiny Norman.
