Okaey dokey. This guitar is amazing but I'm not USING it... which bugs me. So I'll sell it shipped and PayPal'd for

$1700

Local pickup

$1600

or entertain interesting trade for amps: combo or head + cab. I'd be into anything 30 watts or less, single channel, that sounds amazing! Anyone?

Thanks!

2002 GUILD BLUESBIRD, 1 OF 35 MADE FOR NAMM

This is a 2002 Guild, one of 35 made for the 2002 Summer NAMM show. It's an incredibly rare guitar, mixing Bluesbird and Blues 90 features with a very special holoflake finish. Built in the Fender Custom Shop after Fender's acquisition of Guild, it's based on the custom Guilds that were made for Steve Marker, guitarist for Garbage. A printout of the NAMM show literature describing the guitar will be included, along with a letter I have from Fender. Anyway, it's well documented.

Basically it is a Bulesbird but with a Blues 90 neck (dots instead of blocks, and a FAT 50s Gibson profile). There is not a part on this instrument that isn't top-shelf, from the SD 59 pickups to the Grover tuners to the crazy Guild reinforced strap button to the bone nut. Beautiful rosewood fretboard, too. Flawless fretwork.

Condition is perfect. I cannot find a ding or scratch on the instrument, though the finish makes t hard to see. Ah, the finish. It is almost impossible to describe. Utterly amazing, every one of the countless flakes in the glossy paint reflects a spectrum of light so it appears to be a shimmering rainbow depending on your environment. I gigged with it twice and enjoyed blinding audience members with the effect. Weirdly the pickup covers are dull while all the chrome hardware is still perfectly bright. Polish them up if you want.

It comes with two truss rod covers, one that is perfect and one cracked. I have the cracked one on the guitar because it gets the job done and those old Guild parts are impossible to find. The case is lined with thick green plush and has a few scuffs but is basically excellent.

This is a real collector piece and I'm happy to keep it as it sounds freaking' amazing too: HUGE and full. If it sells I'll miss it and if it doesn't I'll be relieved! $1700 shipped and PayPal'd to the lower 48.

I'm also still selling this one...

1980? LOTUS STRAT COPY, MADE IN JAPAN

This is a 1980s Lotus copy of a Stratocaster. From everything I can tell, it was made in Japan, as it has a lot of the features of the well-made Japanese instruments of that era: A fantastic neck with micro-adjust, a small label, black type on black paint that I THINK says "Made in Japan" and an overall very high level of quality. It's original except for a replacement vibrato arm and Schaller strap locks and has not seen a lot of play. I bought it from the original owner and the frets (medium-jumbo I think) are virtually in new condition. The gloss on the maple neck is really shiny, and there are only superficial wear scratches on the guitar except for one good sized scratch at the bottom of the body. The bridge is a really cool unit, with cast micro-adjust saddles, and despite the tuners looking cheap it holds tune well. The sound is BIG. much fuller and with more bottom than a typical Strat. This may be in part because it weighs a ton, and also I think the pickups are just pretty hot and full. The neck is pretty big for a Strat: not a baseball bat but a pretty full round medium size.

$150 shipped and PayPal'd to the lower 48. This is a bargain-priced way to get a Strat-type guitar that plays great, sounds great, looks like a David Gilmour guitar, and has made in Japan quality. Comes in a nice padded gigbag. Thanks for looking!

Ha, the 67 is frankly freakin' sweet. There is not a guitar on the list I don't want to keep. But i literally have my daughter's closet full of guitar cases, and under our bed. I'm keeping the '81 Special, the Guild Songbird, the the weird acoustic, the Veillette Citron bass, and my home-made gilittery freak guitar. The rest... are just too much to keep in our little space.

Email and PM and smoke signals and intermittant love vibrations sent on the Hamer and the Tesco Del Ray!!!

That Tiesco and that Guild are floating my boat.

I don't even know what that means, but those are damned cool.

Okay, two people emailed fast about the Tesico but it went to the earlier date. Sold pending the check arriving. Thanks!

Knife is gone! So having cleared two guitars out I can now close the closet door but the Lotus, Guild, and Special are still up for grabs. I won't cry myself to sleep if forced to keep them, but I'm in spring cleaning mode and it's kind of exciting to see them go to new homes...

I will never in my life find a Teisco like that again. Never ever. Damn.

Okay, the Special is sold pending payment...

The Teisco is sold pending the check arriving in the mail...

The knife has a happy new owner.

The Strat has shipped out.

Loved the Strat, but the Guild is dreamy-wish I had the scratch or something of interest for you on that one!

That f**kin' Guild is driving me crazy!!! AND you're within driving distance......

I believe Steve will soon be playing a sparkly guitar!

Awesome!!

Will shoot you a MSG as soon as I get the info!

Nice score Steve!

I took my Sparklebird to rehearsal after seeing this thread - it's a real nice player - wish could find one of the single pup versions

That era of Bluesbird are great guitars, and bargains ( in my mind ) that you can pick up from around 850 - 1250 ( non sparkle )

Usually on the lighter side - they are chambered, and some of the latter have some real nice chunky necks.

Wish I had the iced tea burst Bluesbird I sold about 2 years ago - the only better neck I have than that one is my BC Rich Seagull
