DaveL Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 1997 Hamer Standard Custom in Natural, with crowns, gold hardware, excellent condition, some light dings on the rear and back however overall very nice shape. IMHO it hasa better than average top. Natural is a GREAT color on a standard custom for showing the flame. JB's/59's schallers. I recently procured it from the ElDuave collection, I love it but I have not played it enough to justify keeping. besides, I have on of those no interest home depot bill coming due... oh well. that carpet was pretty nice... Alloriginal with OHSC $1250 firm + ship from NH, sorry no trades, Thanks! email [email protected] http://images.andale.com/f2/115/106/421790...DSCF0052std.JPGhttp://images.andale.com/f2/115/106/421790...DSCF0058std.JPG
Mike_C Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Dave that is a beauty with a spectacular top. Someone is going to get a great guitar at a fantastic price.
Jeff R Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I'm not a big natural finish fan, but that one for some reason does it for me. Gorgeous!
DavidE Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 If I didn't already have a Std. Custom...... That's a remarkable bookmatch on that top. How come so many tops are bookmatched so the flame on the two sides don't go together like they do on this one?
DaveL Posted March 9, 2005 Author Posted March 9, 2005 Thanks for the replies and comments everyone, sale pending!!! Dave
black magic Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Ooooooooh!! Natural, my favorite finish!! Jack.
DEMENTED Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 If I didn't already have a Std. Custom...... That's a remarkable bookmatch on that top. How come so many tops are bookmatched so the flame on the two sides don't go together like they do on this one? Because they are actually "flitch" matched. If I could draw a picture on here I could show you what that means. Flitch matched is when the board is cut and the piece is pivoted up to be beside the other. Book matched is when the board is split open and the pieces are folded back like the pages of a book.
Craig Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 I've never been a standard guy, but that is hot! It seems priced to sell too, you can't touch a custom order like that for $1250!!!
