G Man Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Greg, what kinds of mods do you like to do to these? I got a hold of one that Greg, StevieDamnClay and two pots of coffee went nuts on one night. I'm trying to remember what it *wouldn't* do pickup switching-wise. I eventually changed the Rio Tallboy humbucker for a BBQ for a fatter bridge humbucker tone, but boy, this thing covered the waterfront. Definitely a "take one guitar to the gig" axe. The PG on mine went from white to tort and whoever has it now changed it to clear (and it was awesome). I'd still have it but the neck, while excellent for some, was just a bit much for me. Hi Tom, I am the current owner. It no longer has the clear pickguard. Awhile ago Greg routed it for the P90, as bubs mentioned, and put a black pickguard on it with more traditional LP knobs. When I got it, someone had done a poor job at swapping out the bridge Rio Grande for a a cheap SD full shred pickup stole the neck Rio Grande P90 for some generic model. I sent it back to Greg, who added a babybucker in the neck and put a BBQ back in the bridge. We also made both tapable, so as to have single coils as well. By far the most versatile guitar I have ever played. If I didn't already own this one, I would be buying the one in this post in a heart beat.
tomteriffic Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Good to see it has a good home and has been put back to it's former glory and then some.Just a testament to just how damn cool and versatile these guitars are.Bubs, sorry for the hijack.Somebody get this.
tbonesullivan Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 what kind of pickups are in it? What is the control scheme? Those do look really interesting. It's got a 5 way rotary switch, correct?

G Man Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Having just spent the last hour playing mine, I really can't believe this hasn't sold yet. I would buy it in a heartbeat if I had the money, at this price you really can't lose.
JohnnyB Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Ok can't sleep. So here is Bubs's midnight sale of a lifetime. $600 plus actual shipping. NO PP M/O/ CC only. I have one for sale locally and have hardly played it in years. But I wouldn't sell mine that low. That's a crazy deal. These are incredible guitars--you could use it all night in a cover band. Neck carve is perfect, there's a tummy cut, it's comfortable, and it has that elusive ability to blend well while maintaining a distinct voice. Buy this for $600 and you could probably clear out two or three other guitars for a net gain.
bubs_42 Posted June 30, 2010 Author Posted June 30, 2010 Its a great guitar and interest has finally started to stir up. Sold Pending Payment.
veatch Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Thank you. I was starting to crack.+1That's a killer deal. Period.
