FS Phantom Custom

I'm going to offer up one at a time. Here is my first offering. This is a very clean Phantom Custom, the only issue is it has some of the discoloring around the neck joint. The top is vibrant, flamey, and the whole guitar is in great shape. The case is as well BTW. I love the Prototype/Phantom Guitars and this one is no different. So i'll start from top to bottom. Headstock is clean not scratching or chipping. Nut is in great shape, frets are perfect as well as the fretboard. Fretboard is dark and clean from top to bottom. The Back of the neck is clean and the wood grain shows through wonderfully. The Mahogany Back has figured and stands out on its own. No bumps or dings around the edges. The hardware is still like new as well as the pickups. I did add a chicken knob to the 5 way. The original and 2 chicken knobs are included as well as the case and the candy. (Key and Warranty Card) Its been played lightly its whole life it appears.

$700. Plus Shipping anywhere I don't have to saw the neck off to get it there. PP and M/O excepted. I want to clear $700.

My that's gorgeous! I kinda feel like I want to see what other guitars you're going to whip out though  Any idea what pickups are in there (I have no idea what comes stock in those)?

Very cool guitar - great price.

Wow, killer price on a killer guitar. This one really shouldn't last long. And might I add, the necks on these have to be played to be believed.

Good luck with your sale.

I want to give my personal props to Shawn. VERY easy to work with on deals and trustworthy. I sold him an amp (he actually came to Ohio and hit one of my gigs to pick it up (sorry it was a quiet one) and just sold him 3 pedals. I bought a Mesa Recto cab from him. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him or sell to him. My highest recommendation.

Somebody buy it and send it to me to mod. I love these guitars.

Back up FS.

Sorry about pulling out on the phantom bubs, but I'm looking forward to the Mirage.

Greg, what kinds of mods do you like to do to these?

What's the neck carve like?

I love the vintage carve but you got to give it up too Hamer because the Mid to Late 90's Med Carve is exellent. Nice hand full of a neck.

I got a hold of one that Greg, StevieDamnClay and two pots of coffee went nuts on one night. I'm trying to remember what it *wouldn't* do pickup switching-wise. I eventually changed the Rio Tallboy humbucker for a BBQ for a fatter bridge humbucker tone, but boy, this thing covered the waterfront. Definitely a "take one guitar to the gig" axe.

The PG on mine went from white to tort and whoever has it now changed it to clear (and it was awesome).

I'd still have it but the neck, while excellent for some, was just a bit much for me.

Greg Mods it by adding a P90 in the neck position, switching out the 5 way for a 3 way switch and adding a second 3 way. Like Serial's Electraglide. More tone combinations to an aleady versitile guitar. That is what I planned on doing but never did.

It's like ... perfect.

Big enough to comfortably fill your hand to support it for rhythm and slim enough not to get in the way for fills and leads. Uncanny feel.
