I watched this movie for the first time in years. While I think I understood most of it, I'm going to have to spend the time to watch it with the commentary on.

I turned the subtitles on pretty early and was able to catch a lot more of the background stuff which was cool.

I'll sum it up for you: "Mommy made me go to school. I didn't like it. Wah..."

Wah? Vox or Dunlop? ;-)

I think it's more like:

"My mom smothered me, my country killed my father, my school teachers stifled me and beat me because their fat and psychopathic wives would be them within inches of their lives so I'm totally crazy.

Clearly that movie was an inspiration to the nu-metallers of today .

Ask he who shall not be named, he thinks this is Pink Floyds best album, I'll bet he can give you a lot of insight on the movie...hehehe...

Only thing I don't understand about the movie is why Bob Geldhof was chosen to play Pink, although his freakishness was well.....freakish.

But, that's the plotline for "Tommy"......

As far as "rock band" movies go ... "The Wall"

doesn't even come close to "KISS Meets The Phantom Of The Park".

Now there's some SERIOUS drama ;)

I remember waiting very very impatiently for that to come on. I musta been about 9 or 10 at the time and I LOVED that movie. But I saw it again after I grew up and whoa.............has to be THE WORST MOVIE EVER MADE IN THE HISTORY OF MOVIES or a close second to Hercules In New York Starring a Dubbed Arnold Schwartzenneger. ;)

VH1 was showing some crap and that movie came up. According to KISS, some of Ace's parts were played by an African American because Ace was so F'd up at the time and the band wasn't getting along.

c1hamerplus,

Don't get me wrong, KISS is my all-time

favorite band. Like you I was ready to have a

premature - ejaculation waiting for that movie back in 1978.

I was 16 years old, and really loved it. Seeing KISS other

than in Hit Parader & Circus, was gonna be great. And it was.

They were rarely on TV. It took me about 20 years to finally

see it again. I have the video now ... (gotta love E-Bay) ... and

man, I just bust a gut laughing each time I watch it. But I still

love it, for the UBER - Cheese, and memories of being

that 16 year old kid.

The Schwartzenneger movie is a great comparision!

Ok Eric, I just dropped a Tab. After I opened the can, diet cola fizzed out everywhere. Please explain how this is allegorical to the Pink Floyd movie. If this was an adult movie, I could understand, but 'The Wall'? ;)

I remember seeing The Wall twice when I was in high school. I understood it the first time around. The second time we saw it there were some people who never heard the album and they didn't get it. We tried to tell them to follow the lyrics and the visuals would make sense. One of my teachers saw it without ever having heard the album, and she misinterpreted the entire thing.

As for KISS Meets The Phantom Of The Park, Ace was likely messed up during the filming, but he was not replaced by a black stand in. His stunt double was black. You can definitely see that the person doing the acrobatics in the Ace costume is black. His face was covered in KISS makeup, but for some reason no makeup was applied to his neck.

Overprotective mommy + overbearing teacher + cheating spouse = fascist dictator

Tried and true formula. Seems a bit trite today. Stick to the album.

"Ack!"

"Yipes!"

"Apes is moah like it".

"Insufficient data at the moment Starchild".

"Ack!"

5 of my favorite lines from KMTPOTP. I recorded that thing with my Panasonic funky set (red) cassette/radio. I need to burn a copy of "Rip and Destroy"...

Now the Three Amigos wasn't that bad, actually.

"Tequila is like beer".

DavidE-that's scary.

We'll have to watch that at lunch sometime! That was the first commercial VHS tape I bought I think.

Three Amigos? I actually like that one!

"Look! It's a Mail Plane!"

"How can you tell?"

"Because it has the little ball thingies"

(I don't know, something like that)

"Tequila ees like Beer" still sticks in my head though.

"Spaceballs" was a good one too.

Better stop now. ;)
