Stike Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Fuck, I need to haul my rig up to Statesville and have him dail it in.................and then go practice, a lot.
Bobby Marshall Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Time to rip the patch off of his uniform, he's got the glow!
bcsride Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 That is really excellent playing, tone chasing, and production.A few thoughts.Zen needs to stop doing equipment demos and start doing song demos - he needs a bigger stage than the audience of nerds (and I mean that in the nicest way) agonizing over which PU to put in their guitar.I don't know what the compensation is, but that video is worth a pretty good chunk of change to SD. As the audience of nerds agonizing over which PU to put in their guitar do make decisions from you tube videos. I know this first hand - for better or worse.
Disturber Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 I've never listened to George Lynch, so I can't comment on anything regarding the tone or the style of playing. But Zen rips in this one for sure. Truly impressing. I wish I had 5% of that talent. It looks like he's having a ton of fun as well. That's cool. The guy can do a great De Martini, and an awesome Eddie and now he does the Lynch as well. Super cool. Geoff, if you plan to do another recording with that pup it would be fun to hear how it sounds through like an old Bassman setting, or a Plexi with mild drive. How does it do an old school rock tone, with moderate gain?
Feynman Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 Ohmygod - where did the video go?! Did the link change? I am behind on my dosage... I'll be downloading it if there is a new link...
Feynman Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 Whew - thanks. Everyone go watch it again.
Feynman Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 Haha! That would be cool, but... I figure that's like walking on stage with an SRV Strat, a Rhoads V, a JEM... If I showed up sporting a Zenmindbeginner strap I'd be setting everyone up for extreme disappointment.
