Keoghpjk Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Here is the CAD drawing with a few other projects from the same timeframe. The first one we built had a carved top, Gotoh bridge and different pickup configuration. The "work order" that got the project going on the first one. I am pretty sure you can count the number of f hole Cruisebasses that exist on one hand. If I had to guess I would say 2 or 3. Wow... This is seriously cool stuff to see, thank you.
prototype-fan Posted December 1, 2015 Author Posted December 1, 2015 "Sold Out" is a funny way to list a likely one of a kind instrument. I don't mind them listing it that way. I just bought it. Glad you got it. I don't even play bass and was tempted by it.

This board constantly surprises me with information and stories you couldn't find anywhere else.
serial Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Very cool - besides being hollow I have never seen the following on a cruise: Figured top Squared off body with binding Neck with binding No pickguard Hamer did the first two features on this cruise in the early 80's. Unfortunately I missed out on the matching Phantom (same nice amber finish) to go with this one. cruise bdy frt.jpg Peter Wow!!!
cmatthes Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Now, if only that 3 holer Duotone BASS would show up again...
sonic1974 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Now, if only that 3 holer Duotone BASS would show up again...Duotone bass! Wow, would like to try one of those.
HamStd Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Now, if only that 3 holer Duotone BASS would show up again... Are you thinking about the Jeff Ament one? Didn't he also have a 4 string version made? Peter

It had been sitting there awhile, so I figured it would still be there the next day.....but vanished.Wondered where it ended up. I shoulda known it is safe at the Casa de Fung. Hahaha.

Hey Jon, I think it went through at least one set of hands as this came from a personal collection not a dealer. This person knows I have a weak spot for a bound maple top....... Peter
BubbaVO Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 That bass was sick enough, then throw in some CAD drawings and it's gone ... I don't even know. Awesome stuff.
mc2 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Peter.....I'm pretty sure that's the same '84 Cruisebass I was going to buy a couple years back.It was in Chicago at Rock n Roll Vintage. Here are pics of it.http://s1359.photobucket.com/user/mc2NYNO/media/image_zpscycnemtu.jpeg.htmlhttp://s1359.photobucket.com/user/mc2NYNO/media/image_zpsjyvadbgf.jpeg.htmlAnd here's a shot of the other flametop hollow 90s Cruisebass that I know of.http://s1359.photobucket.com/user/mc2NYNO/media/image_zpstblsgkks.jpeg.html
