Boomerang~Junkie Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 You've got all sorts of paperwork on who might have owned this Standard, but no headstock parts included from the break? Hmmmm? From the dark finish on the headstock end of the neck - it looks like if had at least one serious HS repair which was clearly defeated. With the visible crack at the neck pocket I don't see how you save that neck. I guess you could have a whole new neck made - ugh. Feels like quicksand from here. Regardless, it will take a pile of money to try to bring that headless horseman back from the dead.
filtre_ Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 The ad says that this guitar was owned once by Def Leppard before it was given away in a competition. I wonder if this could have been Pete Willis’ guitar. He used to play Hamer Standards. What a shame that this instrument was turned into a a trainwreck.
gatorbyte007 Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 Nice project! The case looks mint. To bad it's not in the USA. What is 14,50 in US?
gorch Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 What I can see, the guitar seems to have a one piece mahogany body. That's a nice base to start a project on.

gatorbyte007 Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 Anybody close who wants to Ship it to the States. I'll make it worth your time. Please Hit me Up.

ghamerinfrance Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 The whole is a problem....Send it to me, and continue without any trouble

The price is now 23,50 Euros. A Euro equals 1.11953 in US dollars. Right now the body and case (that neck is gone) is priced at $26.31.

BubbaVO Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 I don't see what the big deal is. Looks like it'll buff right out.
Hamer Dave Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I'm sure you can pick something up at the local hardware store to fill the headstock void.

I could take care of that if you want. Location is 2.5 hours from my place. No reason to drive up there. Would have it shipped for about 6,00 EUR.

There is one important difference: There is no head with the guitar. So: What you would fix? Also hardware and Pu´s are missing.. Imo (may be I am wrong): Somebody will buy an expensive case and some papers. It´s like real life: What a good looking body is worth without a head

Steve Haynie Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 If the original body finish can be retained that could be a cool player one day.
singlehum Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Stick one of these on there and call it a "Steindard".
