Rick Posted October 30, 2019 Author Posted October 30, 2019 This RED SNAKESKIN reverse headstock guitar is vintage 1987. It was custom made for my brother who is now deceased. He sold it years ago and I am trying to locate it. Any help is greatly appreciated! Please network! My family would greatly appreciate any info.
Studio Custom Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 Do you have access to the brother's email? Maybe you can find his buyer to begin your journey if they still not have it.
Steve Haynie Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 We may not know where everything is, but we sure will notice a guitar like that if it pops up.
Rick Posted October 30, 2019 Author Posted October 30, 2019 thank you for keeping this on the radar and for enlarging the picture. I wish we could access to his email but we can't. Good idea though, thank you

Bennyboy-UK Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 So it’s a 1987 custom ordered chaparral, with a single pickup, boomerangs, reverse headstock and painted in red snakeskin/dragon skin by Jim O’Connor. There can’t be many others like this one.

Rick Posted October 31, 2019 Author Posted October 31, 2019 Yes, that’s exactly what this guitar is! My brother ordered it and truly loved it. He was a self-taught musician that played incredible rock ‘n’ roll. Hamer asked him if they could use the guitar in the add. Company loved it too. I have been trying to find it ever since he passed away. I truly appreciate all the help!

Almost looks like a Leopard print... very cool none-the-less!
cynic Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 I'd incorrectly assumed this so-called Hamer expert knew what he was talking about in his Reverb ad for this Chappy.
Rick Posted November 4, 2019 Author Posted November 4, 2019 You guys ROCK! I'm the most patient person you will ever meet. Definitely Snakeskin! he was very proud of that graphic. Thank you for teaching me about the difference in the pattern too! I really appreciate all your help everyone!!
cynic Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Great job embracing our tangents. We wander on and off topic pretty often around here but generally meet the objective in the end.
Rick Posted November 5, 2019 Author Posted November 5, 2019 I feel like part of the fraternity! Thank you all!

hamer-on Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 I figured out how to post this image. More later after I get the Imgur app figured out.
Ua D Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 I love it. The first 2 posts from a guy who joined 9 years ago are in response to this thread. Crazy.
