currypowder Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 How about a modern Tokai 335. I purchased this earlier this year in a haze of semi-hollow love. It is a fantastic guitar, but I've decided that my '80 Tokai ES-150 with a repaired headstock is all the Tokai 335 I need. This is a 2007 Pacifix music store special run with the highest of specs replicating a '59 335. Honduras mahogany neck with a Brazilian RW fretboard, plain maple top and sides and Tokai pickups. The neck on this one is a perfect medium '59 carve. It's in excellent shape, but does have a few scratches on the front of the headstock (see picture link). Also includes a hard shell case. Most of the guys around here know me and my love for MIJ stuff. This one punches way above it's weight if you can get over the lack of the G name on the headstock. This guitar weighs 7.6 pounds and the neck measurements are: Width - 1.64" at the nut, 2.05" at the 12th fret Depth - 0.89" at the nut, 1" at the 12th fret $1,800 shipped. A friends and family PayPal payment would be appreciated, but not required. More pics here - https://1drv.ms/u/s!AoLRRT1O_HxXgZwkkEEoqA2mzWc0Tg?e=U5vRQR
chromium Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 Holy temptation, Batman! That's gorgeous, and knowing Tokai I bet its a killer.
The Shark Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 Curry our ambassador to Japan! The Ornetts he sold me is one of my favorite guitars. And I have a few. I'm sure his description is understated. He's like that.
ArnieZ Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 I’m so tempted, I love 335’s but they are too big for me! love that guitar but not for me someone’s going to get a beautiful ES arniez
