Len Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 Hey Guys, I forget how to remove a logo from a SD humbucker .... Hair spray? Goo Gone, Toothpaste? Someone please refresh my memory ...
Jeff R Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 I've had great luck with the polishing compounds used in headlight lens restoration kits. They buff the bobbin beautifully as they remove the logo.

Rich_S Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 I’m vaguely remembering “pencil eraser” but can’t say I’ve ever tried it. I wear my Duncan logo loud & proud.
Dave Scepter Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Yup, a new logoed SD pickup doesn't look right on a older guitar and look mismatched with a existing pickup... I've used 2 methods... 1) as Jeff stated with polishing compounds & 2) with acetone... fold a paper towel "be extremely careful to swipe in one direction" or you'll etch the bobbin... (you may want that effect to match existing older pickup)
scottcald Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Yeah, I hated when they started with the giant logos on them. They look awful. Everyone knows switchcraft jacks are great somehow without the logo being on the outside of the guitar.

benjammin308 Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Brasso. It is just slightly abrasive so it takes some elbow grease but it will remove the logo without dulling the shine on the plastic. Available at any hardware store.
bsteff666 Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Yes. Brasso will polish the logo off without scratching. There is also a product called Cerama Bryte that is for cleaning stove tops. It works very well too.
