That should be something to be a part of! Not going but if you are have fun 🤘and report back. Didn’t realize they are from Maryland. Any of you MD locals remember these guys?

Elduave is going.  I decided against it, mostly because of the shitshow it will be at Merriweather.

I did just see them in a small club (1.,000 seater) in my home stomping grounds a few weeks ago (Elduave and Mrs. ‘Duave went with):

They are opening!  I remember them but never saw them BITD.  This will be a bittersweet show for me, seeing Child's Play for the first time and Kix for the last.

They were a very good band. They got lost in the shuffle a little bit with the popular hair bands of the day but they were much more a straight up rock band. Of course grunge didn’t do them any favors but they kept grinding it out. Have to respect them for that.

I've only seen KIX once and that was opening for someone I can't remember at the Baltimore Civic Center.   The show was great.  They must've overstayed their welcome because the sound went off and the house lights came up.

I also think they should've been bigger than they were.  Maybe too many fuse/dynamite/blow up songs?  Great tones on all their albums though.

will tell you my Kix story...  probably my favorite band from 85 to 91.

I am not in the DC area but during the 80's, we would have heavy metal wednesdays at our local dance

club...  Celebrations/Narcissus in Kenmore Square in Boston.   Kix played right after Midnite Dynamite came out.

There were maybe 125-150 people there.   Kix didn't care,  they played it like it was Madison Square

Garden... there have been a handful of shows that have ripped my face off  (Iron Maiden on the killers tour,

Scorpions on the blackout tour,  and oddly enough,  Zodiac Mindwarp)      Kix was one of these handful

of shows.   There was a buzz in the weeks after they played (Kix had no commercial airplay in Boston, but

we had a couple metal shows on college radio that were covering them and a little scene going, headed

by Extreme).     Kix were rebooked a couple months later in the big room.    I brought a bunch of my metal/hard

rock loving friends.    there were 1500 people there so other people were doing the same thing.  I think it

really shocked the band...     They appreciated it as they came back to Boston maybe 20 times all the way

thru Hot Wire.     To this day Gary Cherone and Nuno rave about the band as they were at alot of those shows.

Love those guys,  love the quirky wierdness of the 1st album.    great backups,  nice rhythm guitar play.   I absolutely

loved Donnie Purnell and some of his outside the box tunes.   I've heard he was a real jerk which was a shame.

Saw them in 2016.   they actually played really well, had good hair and still skinny...      pretty cool.          BTW:  if you

look around youtube, there are alot of early kix demos posted.   Pretty cool.
