My wife's computer died.

My computer was stolen (see above).

I need a new (to me) workstation.

Can do a cash deal or can do a trade if you're looking for something.  I'm fresh out of Hamer guitars but probably have some hardware and Gravelin goodies laying around.

Bypassing the Apple Silicon? How about a souped-up Mac Mini? Then you can get whatever size monitor you need.

I don't anything I'm looking to get rid of at the moment, but I agree, depending on your needs, a mini might be good.  You can start here: https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/mac-mini/apple-m2-chip-with-8-core-cpu-and-10-core-gpu-256gb#

Apple doesn't have refurbs right now of minis, but I've had good luck here for a couple things:

I appreciate the recommendations but I prefer to stick with the all-in-one solution the iMac provides.

Also looking to stay in the used market to save them dollars.

Again, appreciate the recommendations but I’m pretty adept at googling so I’m not looking for links or sites with used or refurb units.

My hope is that a member here may have upgraded and had their old machine laying around.

I love the Mac Mini!  I use it much more than I use my iMac.

Have imac that I bought about may be 8 or so years ago and pretty much never used. Turned it on may be 20-25 times to store some pics. Was thinking about may be selling it. I use it mostly to keep my floyd arms near by, as it has magnets on a side of a screen. Pretty pricey gadget for a floyd rose arm holder 🤣

You could've just gotten a kitchen knife magnetic holder.

For us, at the desk in the kitchen, I like the all in one form factor since it's cleaner, but since they only have a 24" model at the moment, it's waiting to get replaced.

$3600? $5700? And those are used?? do people actually spend this kind of $ for these things? I'm shocked..

Those are the pro versions of the iMac. More powerful and expensive.

I have bought a few used Macs from OWC and have always been satisfied with them.  Still using a 2012 MacBook Pro.  Bought it for my son for school about 6 years ago, then started using it myself for school when our district switched to Window's based machines.

I do have a 2017 iMac with the i7 and top of line graphic card.  holding on to it as a photoshop machine that is still running CS6 and for the older versions of some software and plugins that don't work with the new Intel Mac Studio I have.  Let me think about selling it...

Forgot about OWC.  The couple of times I looked at their used section, it wasn't what I was looking for, but generally they're good to deal with.

I had a fully tricked out 27" iMac that served me well in my studio for several years. I was crushed when the video card went out and OWC told me they did not have any replacements. I was fortunate to get a free Macbook pro, left over from one of our job sites, as a replacement. Only downside was that I had to upgrade my old Motu interface. Good luck finding a replacement.
