Interesting. I've only played Slinkys a few times. Do they really have a different feel than the D'ADDario 10s I use all the time? I buy Ds simply for price. I've heard most strings are made in the same factory and rebranded anyway. ETA: Maybe I didn't make it clear, I believe I'm developing arthritis. The pain is mostly in some joints in my hands. Possibly from old injuries(?) or just wearing out. I'm trying some topical salves and Omega 3 supplements. I've also been eating cod liver for lunch on Monday and Tuesdays and sardines the rest of the week. Can't say any of it has made a difference.

For the record, my Jubilee, Purple Plexi w/ boost, Eternity and the aforementioned Zen all work well on my board. No noise problems. I'm just lucky in that regard apparently.

Amp11 is one I bought after hearing good things here on the board. For the life of me I don't see it. I can't get a single appealing sound out of it. If anyone would like to give it a whirl let me know. I've had it out of the box no more than twice. eesch! I don't recall which one it is (it's white). It's not the JMP or the 909. I do still really like the Tchula Black Mamba and Vibronaut and the formerly non-functioning boost @bubs_42 sent me and I fixed (likely one of the three "issues" he referred to, above - my offer stands to send it back to you, Bubs).

Was listening to someone discuss the infrastructure piece yesterday, specifically the cooling / water requirements. The logical question was asked, 'why are we building these in Arizona / Texas, etc. Why not Alaska?' Seems interesting, but then the consideration of defense was brought up.

I tried 9's and 8's after that Beato video came out a couple of years ago. The 8's were a disaster for me but 9's were fine. I went back to 10's because I'm just more used to them, but the 9's felt and sounded fine to me. I prefer the added resistance of 10's because I'm a hack with poor control on my bends. The added effort helps to reel me in. That said, I'd have no trouble going to 9's if it permitted me to play without pain. I'd just have to put in the time to get used to them.

Well, Thomann is Suing Fender. Being in Germany, they are also best positioned to take on the original ruling head on. The fact that Fender scored a default win in Germany and started going after U.S. makers was just plain stupid. Thomann is one of the largest music retailers in the world, and their CEO is worth 1.6 Billion. I've been trying to learn to use 9s for a while now. EVH used 9s downtuned to Eb. Jake E Lee uses 9s. Seems like almost all of the 80s players used 9s. My biggest issue is that I cannot, for the life of me, get good fast palm muting with 9s. I have no idea how the hell people did it. Billy Gibbons... he uses 7s now. Still sounds great. Learning to use 7s though will definitely take a lot of adjustment.

I believe it is. I probably should have done some research. I don't recall that the promotion or previews that I saw provided any hint of the drastic change that occurs midway through the movie. I just wasn't prepared or in the mood. No psychological damage, but it pretty much ruined one weekend evening. At least it wasn't as dissapointing as the Spinal Tap sequel.

For a parttime working musician like yourself I suppose that is a fair assessment of Lovepedals. But for a fumble thumbed old fart goofing in his cave, I have to say that there are lots of options available for 3-5 times as much money as my Lovepedals. Sort of like saying I could get similar results if I replaced my MIM Tele with a Suhr Classic T.
