I bought a used Vox AC15HWR1X two weeks before the sale from GC Used (Houston). Last Saturday I contacted my MF rep, and she promptly refunded my card with the 10%. AND surprisingly, the amp was packed REALLY WELL. I was amazed!

I'm sure you know, but just clarifying for others who may be interested... That's a misprint USA Checkerboard Special with a added Kahler bridge

I was in the Rockford GC on Sunday trading in several guitars. I can confirm that the 10% discount is real and there were no pre-discount markups. I'd established a good rapport with the store manager as we worked through my deal, so I felt comfortable telling him (politely) that he'd be lucky to get $1,500 for that Special. He was receptive and interested what I thought the issues were. He also told me that prices on all vintage trade-ins were determined by "corporate". I assume that means the the Hollywood store.

For your listening pleasure: the mighty Gary Moore beating the shit out of his Strat. Features Jack Bruce on vocals as well. The fun begins at approx. the 1 minute mark...........

800 sheets for a tremolo 😲 I have bought cars for less than a tenth of that! It looks great but I'll take my chances with my Gotoh Floyd's until my numbers come in 👍

The Gibby '57 'buckers are a great set of pickups. If i needed a set of Tele pickups, the LL set would be a good place to start. GLWTS

Thanks, Chris. Of course not thrilled about it, but the reality is thankfully it won’t put a big damper on life other than the irritation it caused.

I'm going to call them and tell them XT Series are only worth $350 and see if I can snag it.

There was a Monaco III last week at GC - sold fairly quickly (before I even got to share a link here).

Conversely, if Saul Goodman's thread creation slows to 10 per day, we know he's tied up in a basement somewhere. And not in the fun way.

$2159.99 after the discount is applied.

You just did. Ted is currently out of commission, but we're looking into this as best as we can - and yes, spoofed IP addresses are being used. Proceed with caution at least for the present time, and unless you 100% know the person and trust the communications, DO NOT send PPF&F, Money Orders, or any other non-recourse method. If the seller is open to sending current pictures, videos or FaceTime/phone calls and that can be arranged, all the better. Click on the seller's profile and see what their post history is as well. If they haven't been active in 5-10 years and are all of a sudden posting items for sale, that should be at least a yellow light, if not a red flag! Thanks.

Dang, there's a Vintage 1982 Hamer XT Series Amber Solid Body Electric Guitar You don't see those every day! And only $2399.99!

I don't suppose anyone was already watching some used gear, to determine whether "regular" prices were boosted by 10% prior to the 10% off sale currently on?

I gave it a week after the message I got said I’d get a tracking number the next day and several messages here and via PP. I don’t know if it’s the person who actually owns the account or someone else. I just wanted to alert folks What’s the best way to let mods know?

True, I expect, but don't ask me how to do it. However, the great minds behind the site curtain can determine the IP addresses from whence we post. That can be spoofed - that's what VPNs do, I believe - but if the recent posts are coming from a different area than historical posts, that would be something to consider. Not saying it couldn't be done because I am not informed on the details of how it all works, but it seems difficult for a Moroccan scammer to determine the IP addresses from individual posters, looking in from the outside as it were, so as to spoof believably.

Ah, there are spoofing techniques.

I ran it up the flagpole. They'll be able to tell you if the posts are coming from cwgatti's local IPs or if the Moroccan scammer who has been working here has struck again.

Yeah, the ability to go from fully floating to fixed is precisely what got me interested. But the rest of the unique functions sold me on it. Certainly not cheap but I chase optimum trem function and performance the way y'all chase tone. This is likely a one and done experiment though, I could envision having one on a super Strat IF it delivers the goods. That's a big 'IF.' 😜

Maybe we should try to give cwgatti a break before we get out the tar & feathers. Sounds like he's going through some tough times and may not be checking in here as often as some. I hope this turns out to be a case of slow response due to medical issues and not getting a chance to check in. It doesn't look like he's been here since he posted on Oct. 3. I have my fingers crossed that he will recover and that his offer is honest and will show up soon. edit: For those of you that don't understand the December 31, 1969. It means that he has been a member here for a long time. And you probably haven't.
