  2. No, Warmoth does not make necks like that so far as I know. That was a Butala Custom Guitars build. Goddamn it, I put all that work and $$ into building a perfectly good instrument, complete with a badass graphic I designed (inspired by Batman "The Killing Joke" to be fair) and this is how it gets treated?
  3. Since you're obviously too fuk'n lazy to Google... 🙄 Factory Pickup Details (Burny VH-1) Design: Designed by Fernandes (Burny's parent company), these vintage-output humbuckers were built to emulate classic Gibson PAF tones. Tone: They offer excellent string-to-string definition and harmonic richness, providing a solid foundation for classic rock and heavy metal when pushed through a high-gain amplifier. Leads: Original VH-1s from the late 1980s typically feature gray pickup leads. Common Modifications Because the original Randy Rhoads models are sought after for aggressive 80s hard rock and metal, players frequently modify them with higher-output pickups to achieve heavier, more modern tones. Seymour Duncan: The Seymour Duncan SH-6 Distortion is a popular bridge choice for emulating Rhoads' aggressive Jackson V sound. The SH-16 Custom/59 Hybrid is also favored to balance high-output drive with classic PAF clarity. DiMarzio: The Super Distortion is a staple replacement for players looking to push their amplifier into heavy, sustaining lead territory. [1] Gibson: Some owners swap the VH-1s for Gibson Super '74 Pickups, which feature Alnico 3 magnets exactly like Rhoads' original studio Les Paul Custom.

  6. Pretty much any pic with "those fucking boots" is "the LATFB pic."
  7. I thought this was the LATFB pic
  8. Dammit, Bill… you’re holding… the guitar… backwards!
  9. Seths wouldn't be stock for a Monaco. If they're original it must have been a custom order.
  10. This could be as big as the one Pat Boone did of the genre......
  11. A Tally Pro was your FIRST Hamer? That is setting the bar quite high! Enjoy the SS!
  12. My recently-acquired Monaco Monaco has SD Seth Lovers which are a low wind and they sound fab in this guitar. I usually change out stock pickups, but not this time. The guitar is bright, articulate, and very sweet sounding. I say go for it. I think the spruce top benefits from a lower output pickup. My Newport did as well.
  13. Apparently so — will leave @diablo175 to confirm
  14. Probably a guitar for a specific tonal palette. Sorry, I had to...
  15. Size 12. They fit like 13...available and brand new.
  16. No it didn’t , it was in IN. i think I saw the one in Florida … it was also very clean.
  17. Warmoth can make a Cali replacement neck?
  18. Yesterday
  19. I contacted him when this was listed and he’s potentially also selling the warmoth neck this had with it at some point. Maple fretboard with black boomers, for anyone interested.
  20. They’ve always been a fantastic-sounding live band - it didn’t hurt that they were playing in the “Mini-9:30 Club” (The Atlantis, next door to the real 9:30, and a replica of the old one on F St, NW). I highly recommend catching them if they’re ever within a reasonable distance of you!
  21. What goes up, must come down...
  22. Oops. Sorry for the additional post on this topic. Didn’t check to see if anybody else had posted about his passing. 🤦🏻
  23. This one kinda hit me in the feels. I had been exposed to blood sweat and tears as a boy via their eponymous album that was given to my older sister, who then quickly handed it down to me. Apparently she did not find the dynamic mixture of rock, blues, and jazz all that appealing. Even back then as a sheltered, white suburban kid, I recognized the incredible energy and soul in his singing. RIP David Clayton-Thomas!
