  1. A traditional old school tele bridge will probably sound a tittle thinner than a more modern one. At least that is my experience with the old teles I have compared to my T-51. If you are a traditional country picker, (not modern country), then go for the traditional bridge. If you more into rock and more modern country etc. either bridge will do fine. Here is an old Fender tele and my T-51. I like the T-51 better, both for playability and tone. And, it has one more fret. It's like it's going to 11. The T-51 has the same spank and twang, but more bottom and sustain to the tone. It's way louder. I think it's because of the more modern Wilkinson bridge with the saddles locked down. Just one of the greatest teles I've played period.

  2. Very nice, and inspiring! I've been a member of the Porsche club for nearly 20 years, I've never heard anything but Por-shu, a lot of these people visit the factory do other fancy stuff. the Walther comment reminds me of a joke told in my extended family: Sven was walking down the street and saw a guy carrying a long pole coming towards him, Sven asked the man; "are you a pole-vaulter?" the other guy answered "no, I'm a Svede, but how did you know my name vas Valter?"

  4. Please keep an eye out for the following if you would be so kind - local Craigslist, pawn shops, etc. Stolen on 10/29/2013 from south Mpls, MN Korina Special - 855818 - natural finish, headstock repair. Purchased here off the board. Ernie Ball Musicman "Luke" - G10732 - Black sparkle finish with matching headstock, EMG's H-S-S Yamaha Tele-style - Ly07114 - sunburst finish, bound top, last seen in "Nashville" tuning I believe Floyd Fender Strat - K006607 Made in japan, Black, EMG's H-S-S, well-worn, side dots missing or small rhinestones. These were the property of one of our very own here - someone far too cool to have this kind of bullshit visited upon him, but there it is. Thanks!

  5. Hey Ted, Hang in there. This is a bad thing, and no one in your house "deserved" it in any way. The jerks who did it will be caught, and with any luck the "stuff" will come home. If not, as you said it is just "stuff" and really, not important. Annoying and deeply disturbing? Hell yes, but the important things - you and your family - are OK. They make new "stuff" every day. We are all pulling for you and your family. Let us know if we can help in any way. We are your friends, and want to help.

  7. Maybe a stupid question because I'm asking it, but everyone wants black ebony. Do you think this [flame] is because of the lack of black ebony? If so, do you think we will see more of it? Check out this video. Edited to make my babbling make a little sense.

  9. The oldest, cheapest one you can find with only three saddles. Because that's what they came with and that's what they're supposed to have.

  10. This made me chuckle until I read on and saw that it was Ted's gear. Now I'm pissed and am making myself available for an impromptu flight to Minnesota.

  12. I want to thank Carfish for this one and admit that I am the friend he was talking about. Its been a hard 3 weeks here at our house. This story is probably one for the outer circle but in that time my son was jumped by 6 kids outside a football game and they while the didnt get his bike for holding on for deal life they went in his pockets while kicking him and punching him on the ground and grabbed his samsung galaxy s III. The feeling of having your child having to deal with that is very hard and I was on edge for a while A week and a half later our house was broken into and they grabbed the small stuff. ipads, money, etc. Pretty much all you could carry in a back pack. I took precautions immediately and started securing the doors with new locks and 3 foot steel bars in the door jams and stayed home from work the rest of that week knowing they they had seen what was there. Feeling better I went to work this morning and got a call from my wife who was in tears saying they broke in and got your guitars. 7 gone in all along with almost everything else of value in the house. imac, home server, hard drives you name it. They had pried open a basement window. I have since screwed all of them shut. 3 police reports later its hard to keep my chin up right now but everyone is ok and things are replaceable. I live in a great neighborhood and am not going anywhere. Still insurance is saying 2500 deductible PER incident so its a hard hit. I so very much appreciate the real friends I have here.
