  1. ^Seriously, this is one of the smartest posts about the subject I've ever read around. BTW, not so long ago I tried two Dean Vees and they were just amazing --two big, sound WOW's! Therefore, I can live now with those headstocks, so it's maybe "time to get my wings"...
  2. I love those GT. This is the kind of stuff that pops around very rarely, so please someone do himself a favor and buy it right now. Well, it could be me, but I don't really need more guitars --I have in fact one guitar (a Vector) for sale around here. So, I'll pass this time. Good luck with the sale!
  3. I didn't know you were in Baghdad! Good luck, man, and stay safe. Cheers!
  4. I voted Mercyful Fate. I am a big fan, but in addition they are certainly quite influential and original. I would have gone next with Death and Megadeth, in that order, if I had voted more than once. Edited to add: Is there any other band actually deserving the 6th position more than Mercyful Fate?

  6. Well, Nick kept two guitars of mine for a looooong while and there were no issues at all. I've also kept for months high-value guitars I've borrowed from my bandmate, and of course, I take care of those like if they were my own eyes. I guess then it depends to whom you lend your guitars.
  7. I have a white Centaura Slammer Series which is my preferred shredder EVER.
  8. I read on TGP he has terminal cancer. And that he struck a deal with Lace to make his pups. And I don't want to wait 6 months to get them - instant gratification is a beyotch. : ) Oh! Bad news! But when I ordered my L-500's three or four years ago, my order only took two weeks. I would call them anyway then.
  9. Why don't you call Bill Lawrence himself? Go to his site: http://www.billlawrence.com
  10. This was sooo funny! I was practicing this morning with my Double-D'ed Vector and my new Java Boost pedal (which BTW I got from Rob here --thanks mate!) and suddenly my amp tuned to a radio station in Portuguese or something... It was like "Calypso, calypso!", he, he. Funny as hell! It's the first time in my life this happens to me. Well, I guess I have to work a little more on the shielding of my guitar... or learn to play that kind of stuff.
  11. Dude, don't let it go... That's a hell of a guitar!
  12. Well, I guarantee you that playing hard rock, metal, glam rock, punk, pop rock or pop is more fun than playing gothic --Seriously! Because players in those genres still have blood running through their veins.
  13. That's what I wanted to know... Thanks a lot!
  14. Has anyone ever seen humbucker-sized mounting rings for Burns Trisonic pups? I actually wonder if that's doable. I know a guy who can do that kind of custom job, but I have no idea if the Trisonics will need extra routing on a guitar already routed for humbuckers. Can someone here tell me, please?
  15. I never expected such a story! Cool!
  16. I always admired Viv and how he ripped with taste, back in the Dio days. However, I'm glad he's playing with Def Leppard now. I don't think it's a waste. Viv seems just to be into something different these days... and in addition he's making money, which is just great.
  17. I hear you, guys. I'll use copper foil then. Thanks a lot!
  18. That's exactly my question: what's the good stuff, and where to get it.
  19. Can you please suggest to me a conductive paint for shielding? Also, where to buy? Thanks in advance!
  20. A Standard is about 100% more comfortable to play than a Les Paul. I could not believe it, but it's fact. And for access to the higher frets, no comparison. I don't find LP's to be comfortable at all. But a Standard is almost as confy as a Strat - believe it or not. Perfectly balanced. The only downside is that the hardcase is as big as your grandmothers coffin, and that the upper horn gets banged into stuff at times. But I can live with that. It's only rock n' roll... +1 I won't talk about the sound, because I've never played a USA Standard --only USA and import Explorers, as well as import Standards. But yes, 100% agree: they are waaaay more ergonomic than a Les Paul. The shape seems to attract chicks as well --my wife loves them, as well as several other chicks I know. To me, the only issue with the higher frets is that I cannot do my "butterfly vibrato", but besides that, the shape is just perfect, as there is no other guitar out there so perfectly balanced.
  21. I like the look of the Stetsbar, but I guess that's just me. Everyone else seems to think it's ugly as hell.
  22. He will be missed, but his legacy will be alive for centuries. RIP!
  23. That's crazy. For the investment it might be OK --well, I dunno... However, unless you're into serious cork sniffing, I'm sure you can get a great (and I mean really GREAT) PAF tone for a fraction of that price.
  24. Co-inkadintley, I've just been looking at these. Which model did you get zorrow ? I got the cheapest one. Amazing anyway.
  25. The ball does produce a lot of resistance and provides a hell of a workout for your wrists, forearms and shoulders, but I have no idea if it works as a therapeutic device. All I know is that I enjoy playing with it.
