It was originally white. They can turn cream over time. I have one in my parts bin that started out life as a white guard on a black '97 Standard exactly like this one.

Glad you mentioned this, Chis. I was thinking about ordering that book, but it doesn't sound like it's very well put together. Seriously - if I had seen it before ordering, I would have saved the money.

No challenge here! Plus, it's actually been EDITED, unlike that gawdawful "Burst Believers" book that hit the streets recently. That one is horribly done.

I just got charged from Schiffer today as well.

Just got word earlier that Faye apparently took her own life earlier today. I chatted with her a few times over the last few months about her Hamers and her time in the 80s NC Rock Scene. Most recently, touched base with her about her blue Cruisebass that she had been trying to sell on eBay.
