  1. Hungerford? Now THAT'S a Rock n' Roll town!
  2. Benny, old chap, I can't see Steve going any closer than Henley-on-Thames.
  3. Okay... Not for nothin', but Rush and the Guess Who just HAVE to be bigger, more influential bands than the Tragically Hip. I've never even heard of Beau Dommage. How come those bands got bigger stamps? RUSH gets hosed again.
  4. All equally valid points above!
  5. You need a 10mm hole for the Sperzels to drop in. If you have "Vintage" style tuners on there now, you'll have to ream the holes to the larger size (he said "ream"...heh heh). If you have Schallers on there now, there's a better shot that they'll drop in.
  6. (From a guy well known for his patience!) :D :D
  7. I love these threads more and more. Reminds me that it's time to get something down to Jay sometime soon (again).
  8. I don't think there have been any "blackouts", have there?
  9. It's been slated for June since the first announcement. As far as I know, that's still the case.
  10. Ah, they're no Superdrag.
  11. I caught Sloan a couple years ago with You Am I opening. YAI blew them away, and I'm a big fan of Sloan too. Saw them (Sloan) again last fall, and they were every bit as good as before, but had wised up and gotten a shittier opening band.
  12. I would NEVER consider the Cult "Pop", nor "Power Pop" - they are 100% RAWK! The solo and outro in the Tubes' "She's A Beauty" and "Talk To Ya Later" should qualify. It was certainly cool to hear that kind of stuff in a pop song as a kid.
  13. Ah...Connells. I also played "Push" for my son last week while visiting him at school. Great song. Going back to that general era, I'll add Let's Active in there too.
  14. Giraldo did the "Jesse's Girl" solo. You can tell just by listening to it - masterful stuff in a fluffy pop song.
  15. Gigolo Aunts You Am I (mid-period stuff is more power poppy) Redd Kross Big Star Cheap Trick Fuzzbubble Hoodoo Gurus The Lemonheads Material Issue The Plimsouls The Pretenders (Sorta) The Shazam Silver Jet Shoes Sloan The Smithereens Squeeze Teenage Fanclub Lots of Todd Rundgren stuff Velvet Crush To name a few in loosely alphabetical order...
  16. That guitar (in Brooks' hands) kicks much ass.
  17. Looks factory from the pics - but then again, it's not in my hands. Looks like it has an '86 factory Serial number stamp, just like Jemmie mentioned.
  18. Hameritis is just an excuse to get a greay guitar for cheap and get it refinned in a groovy color!
  19. I have no freakin' idea.
  20. Sounds like a lot of monkeying around under the hood. Pickups should have been EMGs to start with, and the toggle(s) are likely unoriginal. Hamer's wiring is extremely neat/tidy, and minimalist, so even without a control cavity pic, my guess is that not much of anything in there was in there when that bass left Arlington Heights. Awesome bass - I still want one of those, despite the spine-bending weight they all have.
  21. Sorry - Crunchee is correct. It switched over to "Studio Custom" in 1996.
  22. The photographer had to pay Gene Simmons $5,000 to publish that pic of Les.
  23. I wouldn't really say that's a "Limited Edition" model. Looks like a regular factory-spec Diablo with changed pickups. That would probably sell for @ $600 here in the States with the original Hamer case.
