  1. Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley totally Sharon Osbourned the other members of KISS too. Greed and blind love of self and power is an ugly thing.
  2. Unless you were there early on in her career, you're tracking around whatever pollution Dennis Rodman left for the rest of your life. I think that would officially be classified as a Superfund site. Yikes.
  3. Wait... There is a Kevin Smith story I missed?!?!?
  4. Forgot about Voice of the Beehive. They put on a fun show.
  5. I shot this shot from the guitar pit at a Garbage show a few years back...
  6. ...and his music blows, and it always has. What's that saying about opinions? - Austin Well there had to be something to balance out all the "he's a genius" ass-kissing that goes on every time this douche's name comes up. I was expecting something like this. Seems so typical around here. Agree with the masses, or long established members, or be silent, and all is good, but don't dare disagree. Never say anything negative about KISS, Prince, and a few others, because you saw through the hype, or just plain hate the music, or be fed to the lions. Yet you can't say anything positive about other acts, if it's one of the performers that "everyone" here agrees is only appropriate rip on. You can say you don't like Clapton, Jeff Beck or Hendrix, that's OK, (and I have no problem with that, if you don't like them, fine. I may not understand what you're not hearing, but that's up to you. Likewise, if you like someone, OK, I don't have to agree), but suggest that Prince was a product of media hype, and not a "genius"? Sacrilege! It's like the post a few months back, when someone posted a video of Prince playing 'While my guitar gently weeps' at some fundraiser, and everyone was gushing over it as genius. I don't get it. That's "genius", but the "Beano" album sucked. OK, tells me all I need to know. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion here. It's a DISCUSSION forum. You can either agree or disagree, and nobody else is any more or less right than you are. If you don't like having your opinions discussed, criticized, agreed with, or debated, why are you posting on the Internet in the first place? That's not how it works.
  7. In addition to a few of those mentioned above: Kay Hanley Charlotte Hatherley Susanna Hoffs Tanya Donnelley Miki Berenyi Deborah Harry Johnette Napilitano Ann & Nancy Wilson Juliana Hatfield Susie Hug Liz Phair Pat Benatar Linda Rondstat - when she could actually still rock
  8. I was never saying that the broken guitar wasn't a vintage one - it clearly IS. Just interesting that Gibson/Epiphone just released a fairly obscure, not really collectible model just as his gets taken out of mothballs and smashed!
  9. Now we're onto something. Not for nothing, but that Roots dude is a fairly high profile Gibson endorser. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if that was a stunt.
  10. To give full credit to LucSulla, Charles Babbage's great niece is quite a hottie... Period.
  11. I'm glad you said it, Muse.
  12. Or just keep your eyes and ears open and make a big wish every now and then.
  13. Priced less than a new imported Strat? Somebody should give this one some love... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hamer-Monaco-Elite-Mahogany-Vintage-Cherry-/261169967446?pt=Guitar&hash=item3ccef17156
  14. Agree with Ron - poor design all around. I'm a Gibson fan, but that one misses the mark completely. Try one out and you'll see...
  15. I have always wanted a B-12A...or a B-08A...or a B-04A...
  16. My offer still stands if Paul/you don't want that case!
  17. The "Granite" finishes were a stock finish for many models - no upcharge, and those were not done by Jim O'Connor and signed. They were basically a stock white, pink, red, gold and maybe some other finishes, with a drybrushed black over top of that, then the clearcoats were done. THIS is an example of a "Granite" finish: The "Marble" finishes were the ones done by Jim O'Connor, and those were CUSTOM, UPCHARGED ($600 List) line items. That finish was where a stock Sky Blue, Seafoam Green or Blue Gray undercoat received Jim's sponge/drybrush/brush twirl marbling technique, where various layers of black, dark and light gray, dark rust brown and white were randomly applied, and gold foil "veins" were then hand-rubbed on, and that was all signed and dated by Jim prior to the clearcoats being applied. HUGE difference between the two. The Benster's SS-1 above is a perfect example of the latter, and here is one of my former ones, also over a foam green base:
  18. One of my favorite Hamer graphic finishes of all time. That rocks - I don't think I've heard your story before!
  19. Our Driver's Ed cars in High School were Chevy Citations. I learned to drive a manual transmission on one of those. The joke back then was that you'd never be able to get one going fast enough to get a traffic citation. (Hey, we were 15, but it was true!)
  20. What CSPOT said above...
  21. There might be a few potential "HFC Exclusive" things that could work out in a cool way. Pre-order here, BTW: http://www.schifferbooks.com/newschiffer/book_template.php?isbn=9780764343520
  22. He'll sign it for you, Kiz...but it won't be with a pen!
