  1. I think I had one but liked the BK Butler, Blue Tube version better. Both are long gone. Would love to try one now, when I know more about finding my tone.
  2. Interesting amp. Looks good too.
  3. I did not know it once had a Kahler? Interesting. (Then again, I never listened to P Floyd or Gilmour. Way overrated hippie music. And Waters is a commie). If it is de-Kahlered then it should have lost half it's value. So in reality the buyer got it cheap.
  4. I always liked the Duncan 59. It is one of my favourite neck pickups. I remember when I was 14, in 1983, and had saved up to buy a new 59 bridge. Wish I still had that pickup. I put it in my strat and thought my tone was smokin'. I have a very early 1980's set in a drawer. Butyrate bobbins, long legs. I haven't decided which guitar to put them in. As for a anniversary set like this. I say why not. It's cool. I mean you are not force to buy them. I guess it's for the Duncan fans. If you just want a 59 there are plenty used out there. I wonder if they are potted? This store sells unpotted 59's. I wanted to try one for a long time: https://www.specialtyguitars.com/seymour-duncan-humbuckers.html
  5. Interesting. It really sounds like a production flaw. I hardly ever break strings. For me they usually break if I slack them to fix a pickup or something, and then they break when I tune them up again. it's because the strings have a lot of milage on them. But very seldom break a string just by playing the guitar (again, unless they are really old).
  6. Only 3 hours! Next time make sure to ask for a quintuple bypass.
  7. Facebook ain't the HFC. It's harder to check up on old posts. Sometimes, even if you sort the answers to "View all comments" it still feels like I don't see everything in the threads there. There are sale ads mixed with photo posts. And there are far less interesting discussions about "whatever" random thing. (And, there is no Outer Circle). It's just not the same. This place is like a sewing circle for old grumpy guitarists that think that anything posted in the For Sale section priced over 350$ is an insult to humanity. Where else on this planet we call earth can you find such a forum? Nowhere.
  8. Have a friend who did this type of surgery three weeks ago. It saved his life. He is alright, and still the same mean sob. Hang in there! 👊
  9. I just emailed the worst song ever known to man. Let it be heard on the HFC. Lock up your children.
  10. A bit weird this one. A big picture of a Dean. Then a small of Rick with a Standard, and the text is about Rick. The large pick should have been a Standard.
  11. Carlos gets a lot of talking time in the documentary movie We Want the Funk. It's funny when he explains how he got fired from James Browns band because he missed a chord. Then he found Bowie.
  12. Damn I just saw this thread now. I hate these pinned posts. I never read them. To the admins: how about letting the posts run for a week or so first in the usual flow of posts, when they are "fresh news". And then pinn them at the top after a week? I will try to make time to record something really simple and have it ready for the 28th, next weekend. It will be really simple, I won't have time to write anything great specifically for this, or to mix it like Matt Wallace would mix it. If I get something on tape if will be something really disturbing. Bear with me.
  13. A lot of covers made a huge impact on me. But today I choose this album. My best friend had received this album as a present. We did not think the cover was metal enough (we thought it was really gay), so we did not listen to it for months. Then one day we decided to give it a spin and we quickly realised that these mo**her f***ers was the real deal and more. The best glam rock metal group from this part of the world ever. They even influenced GnR. I still love it to this day.
  14. This for sale over here in Scandinavia. About 10 minutes from where I live. Seller asks 3000$. It seems to be a collaboration with Brad Paisley? Good amp? What about the price?
  15. I know the MIII had the standard Duncan P90's. I just don't know which model that was in which position. I don't want a hot ceramic in the bridge that Hamer used in the 90's Specials and the Artist. I wonder if a good luthier could plug those holes and make them almost invisible?
  16. What are the exact Duncan's Hamer put in these? Mine came with Lollar's. They sound very good. But I think the Duncan's had more output, might be cool to try. Very sad about those holes in the top. Who does such a thing....
  17. Some fine old school Heavy Metal right there. Congrats! I like the organ on Weapons Rise. Well mixed and well played. I have the original pickup rings from that Standard and the JB that used to be in it is now in my Hamer Super Pro.
  18. There are lots of Dumble sounds!!
  19. Very cool. Thanks for sharing!!
  20. Ahhh, those bends! 👿😅👿 I'd love to soak up the sun where that guy is. But his playing does not remind me of sun and fun.
