  1. "Fckduppbeyondrecognitionnice" = when someone is overly enthusiastic about something. A new word for 2026. Has an old head crack repair - did not know until I black lighted it Added pickup & mini switch It's actually in pretty decent condition overall
  2. I used to be able to avoid custom and tax fees when I ordered things with a value under 100 $. But since about 10 years ago the customs here in Sweden scan every package code and I then get a message that I need to pay about 30% of the value of the goods, including shipping cost, to get the package delivered. If I don't pay the fees I guess they send it back to the sender, I don't know. I used to buy a lot of CDs, guitar pickups, pedals and other small stuff without problems. Now it's hardly worth it. I try to buy from within the EU instead.
  3. I really don't know what amps he used. I assume he used the Marshall that John Norum just bought.
  4. I was working for one of the major music publishers for 15 years. Met and worked with many world wide celebrities, artists and songwriters, during those years. I was also running the recording studio, and had many international writers come in doing sessions. It was a great time, before Napster, Spotify etc. when the world was still buying albums. The music biz is not the same now. Hardly any good bands coming to town anymore. Real music is dying. It's sad. But I got to live through it. And I am very grateful for the life I lived. The extremely talented people I've met and became friends with. Damn, we had some good fun back then.
  5. Great top on this one. Looks to have the original pickups etc. About 1400 Euros, which is a more than reasonable price. For sale in Sweden, (not by me). If anyone is interested and needs help contacting the seller send me a pm. https://www.blocket.se/recommerce/forsale/item/18614492?ci=2

  6. I found a Watkins Dominator for sale over here. In a music shop. They want 3K for it. I am thinking, nah not a chance.
  7. Never had a. 18W clone. But reading about that Watkins amp makes me want one badly. I have my old 18W Fender Superchamp. It ripps. For Marshall tones I settled on the fact that my 4010 JCM800 is the ultimate home, studio and gigging amp. The fact that these are quite bright makes them work very well with a good attenuator. From bedroom level to full blast. If you use the attenuator for what it is, that it will change the tone and feel of the amp on it's more quiet settings, you can get a lot of fantastic tones out of this set up when recording. It's a 1x12 combo so it's as easy to haul around as a Deluxe Reverb. It sounds awesome at the same volume as an 18 watt amp putts out, but it has the muscle of s 50 watter if ever needed. It has EL34's, my favourite tube. And it does not have a choke or other od construction to keep the volume levels down, like the Marshall Studio amps. Well built and good UK transformers too. A real Marshall from the golden years. What's not to love.
  8. John Norum (Europe guitarist) bought Gary Moore's old JMP. I am sorry to fart on Joe's joy over the Soldano, but owning Gary's old JMP is way cooler in my book. Here together with Opeth guitarist (and best friend) Kulle. I wonder if Gary even used this JMP with Lizzy? That would be like owning the holiest of Grails. "John Norum was the buyer of Gary’s legendary 1972 Marshall Superbass! This was the amp he used to record his early rock album e.g Corridors of Power and was his main live amp throughout the 80’s!"
  9. Not the same thing as removing all screw poles. But probably a better sounding pickup: The Dimarzio Bluesbucker. Also, you don't look like a dork on stage; the guy playing a mongoloid humbucker without screw poles.
  10. Been watching his Youtube vids. But stopped a couple of years ago. He's a good player, but his style is a little one dimensional. He's created his own sound though. Seems like a nice guy. Those are cool guitars. I liked that Yamaha type of guitars even before I saw that Chris played them. I don't know who the guy is that reviews this guitar. But he comes through as a guitar wanabee. Really annoying.
  11. Reminds me of those message boards posts when some carpenter built his own guitar design. Without any skill in design. These instruments are always really ugly. And you sit there by the keyboard thinking you should write a post to tell him. But you know it will be really hurtful, so you don't bother.
  12. Here is my 1973 Artiste 2040 combo. I had it modded about 20 years ago in to a JTM50. Channel one is a 6G6-B blonde Bassman circuit. The reverb was removed. A mid control for the JTM50 cirquit is on the bottom side, in a hole that was not used. So nothing drilled. It's a great sounding amp. Like a JTM45 but with EL34's and a solid state rectefier. The Bassman channel also sounds great, a bit more open.
  13. If he is like that the whole time, I'd kill him after a three week tour. But from this 20 minutes I laughed out loud a couple of times.
  14. I never found that inlay to be a thing. I just hardly don't even register that it's there.
  15. Haha. Sounds brilliant! 108 pedals is my new benchmark for a satisfying pedalboard. I never got into MW's earlier stuff. It's a bit to weird for me. But the bands two latest albums are wonderful.
  16. I hate your friend. And, I need to get a dog. So I can find these things.
  17. I have 0406. Afaik it's from 1980.
  18. If you want it, then you want it. Now you have spent 8,5 years of your life lusting for a guitar that you never get to play. Time is money. You have lost a lot of money. Just buy the damn thing and stop being miserable.
  19. Yupp. Need to crank it. I was listening to the latest Glenn Hughes album and the guitar sounds are so good and still kinda without vibe. I am thinking it's all recorded within modelers or plug ins. I don't know, it's just a guess. This album would have sounded so much better if the guitar sounds felt more live and real. Like in the old days of recording. The way it sounds now it's just to perfect. Makes it un-interesting. Even though my band is on hiatus I still pay 100 bucks a months for a place in our rehersal room. I keep two 70's Marshall amps there and three cabs. Plus my pedal board. Playing at home with a fully attenuated amp is good for what it is. But going down to the rehersal place and crank up a 50 watt Marshall from the 1970's at full blast, that is like riving up a Harley Davidson. It just rattles the bones. It's where it's at and how it's supposed to be. It was why I got into this thing with guitars in the first place. Nothing comes close. You need to play differently, you need to be aware. The strings become evil. It's like riding a damn dragon.
  20. That was a LOT of talking, and very LITTLE playing. I am none the wiser. GIve some some sound examples of how the damn thing sounds on full blast. I want to hear the brown sound overdrive these things are famous for.
