  1. Amps guys that use pedals are experts on true bypass.
  2. I tried to sell some amps last year and it was hard. No bites at all. Now I recently sold three heads and one cab. But the cab was a hard sell. It was a 1974 Marshall 1960A and I had to drop the price on it. I am thinking, are players going more to digital and in ears? Are new players less interested in amps + cabs?
  3. Is there a way to change out the rechargeable battery?
  4. I bought all albums, (except In Throught The Out Door which I had), when they released the Jimmy Page remix/remasters like 10 years ago. They all sound sublime.
  5. This movie does not need IMAX. It does however need a mean ass sound system. The room needs to be shaking from the music. It is a really great movie. My kids loved it and the oldest went straight for my Zep vinyl collection when we got back home. We had 1st row tickets in a smallish movie theatre. It was loud and it was intense.
  6. i have tickets for this coming Sunday afternoon. Bringing my 15 and 17 year olds. This will be a lesson for them.

  8. Looks like a Sustain block?
  9. Beautiful speakers. Congrats!!
  10. Not more gain than that?
  11. This makes so much more sense to me. A plug in. Why on earth would I want this sound in a pedal? The Rockman in itself sounds kinda like sh*t. I remember playing it withe headphones back in the 80s. It was never satisfying, but it was all we had to be able to practise with headphones. All recordings that used the Rockman in the 80s used loads of processing in the mix to make it sound good. To me it's a very dated sound. I can not for the world understand why anyone would want to sound like this in 2025. But that is just me. When Roger Linnn came out with the Adrenalinn pedal 20 years ago, that was more groundbreaking for me. That was a unit that actually sounded great. I wish I'd kept mine.
  12. The major focus will probably continue to be towards the home electronic market: heaphones etc. The guitar amp part of the company is no longer the companies major operation. It's just a small part of what they do. I heard before Chrismtas that they want to use the amp side to build the content of the brand name so that they can use the value of the brand name when selling other products. Let us hope they stay with that plan and continue to build great amps in the UK. https://group.marshall.com/2025/01/24/marshall-to-turn-up-the-volume-with-hsg-as-new-majority-shareholder/ "The Marshall family will retain a meaningful stake of over 20 percent in the company under the terms of the deal. HSG will work closely with the Marshall family and the management team to strengthen the Marshall brand and fuel its sustainable and profitable growth. Terry Marshall, Board member at Marshall Group, who founded the now legendary British brand with his father in 1962 comments: β€œWe are now over 60 years into our journey, and the pioneering sound of Marshall continues to resonate across the world. Together with HSG and our team, we can further build on our history to amplify the love for music and the Marshall brand for decades to come.” β€œMarshall is one of the world’s most iconic brands, firmly rooted in music culture. By building on this legacy, we are convinced that Marshall will strengthen its position as the go-to brand for guitarists and as the most exciting brand for music lovers globally. We are thrilled to partner with the Marshall family and the team at Marshall to write music history,” said Steve Jia, Partner at HSG." After all, this interview with Terry is only a month old. He must have been way in to the negotiations with HSG at that time, and he does not sound worried about destroying the legacy. It is an interesting interview. Well worth a watch:
  13. If they move the factory to China then I am selling off my collection of Marshall's. All hope is lost. Rock N Roll is truly dead.

  15. It sounds great in the video and I get a load of GAS. However, I don't understand why Marshall insists on making only 100 watt models. Why not 50 watt versions. That is the ultimate wattage for a Marshall amp. 100 is to much (and four tubes are double the cost), and 20 watts (Studio series) are for wimps, they don't move enough air.
  16. The Bands music means a lot to me. RIP legend.
  17. Saw him live with Thin Lizzy in 1983. A concert to remember. RIP.
  18. Yes, but sorry to say never listened to them. Are they worth checking out? Which album?
  19. Never heard of the guy. But some fine Hamer 'birds on that wall for sure!
