  1. I could have bought a 1969 gold top, no volute, with original paf's, in supreme original condition, for 2000 dollars. I hate myself..... Also a super cool yellow dragon Jim O' Connor Steve Stevens 1 that was in a store for about 1200 dollars. Should have bought it. When I came back it was gone. Never seen one like it. Both these guitars slipped away some +20 years ago. 😕 I also sold my blue Rickenbacker 4002 bass for 200 dollars in the late 1980's. I hate myself.....
  2. Does it have the original, first gen, Duncan Broadcaster in the bridge? Mine sounds absolutely fantastic. It's one of the best tele bridge pickups I've ever played. And that includes two early 50's Fender teles.
  3. Looks great. It only needs a Floyd. Oh, it had one.....
  4. " But in recent weeks, the “Keithburst” guitar’s provenance has been called into question. A representative for Mick Taylor, who played for the Stones from 1969 to 1974 and is regarded as one of the greatest guitarists of all time, has said that the instrument is rightfully his. He claims to have purchased it from one of the Stones’ tour managers in 1967 and regularly used it over the next several years, according to Guitar World’s Phil Weller. Taylor’s team claims the guitar was stolen in the summer of 1971, when the Rolling Stones rented a mansion at Villa Nellcôte on the French Riviera and recorded the album Exile on Main St. These sessions were marked by heavy drug use, general chaos and escalating tensions amongst some of the band members. When the theft occurred in broad daylight, the band members didn’t notice. “That’s how loose and stupid it was out there,” Bill Wyman, the Stones’ bassist from 1962 to 1993, told the Observer’s Sean O’Hagan when discussing the incident in 2010. The thieves made away with a saxophone, a bass and several guitars. Taylor claims that until the “Keithburst” turned up at the Met, that was the last time he saw it. But the Met has disputed Taylor’s claims, saying that he used the “Keithburst” but never officially owned it. The museum also argues that the instrument was never taken in the 1971 burglary, and that its recent whereabouts have been well-known. Christie’s put the guitar up for sale in 2004, and it went on display in a Met exhibition in 2019. 'This guitar has a long and well-documented history of ownership,' the museum tells the New York Times’ Michaela Towfighi in a statement. Subsequent owners have included Cosmo Verrico, a guitarist for the rock band Heavy Metal Kids; Peter Svensson, a Swedish producer; and Dirk Ziff, the billionaire collector who lent the guitar for the 2019 exhibition and made the recent donation to the Met. Peter Svensson is the guitarplayer in The Cardigans. He has several bursts.
  5. "The Hamer headstock was bland and boring", well f*ck you too. And then they decide to put a their own headstock design on it, which looks like Woodstock, from Snoopy, taking a wank.
  6. Seriously, get a Marshall 50w JMP model 1987 metal front reissue. Or even better a 70's JMP 4 holer. There are no other ways to get the right plexi tone. You can come close. But no cigarr. Master volume is for babies. Digital amps are for wannabies.
  7. Do you still have the original electronics? Deal breaker for me unfortunately.
  8. Farewell to the Prince of Darkness. 😿
  9. I will never forget how scared I was from watching the cover for Sabbath Bloody Sabbath when I was about 12. First time I saw him was in 1986. With Scorps and Def Leppard. Their first gig since Rick lost his arm. Great gig, with Jake.
  10. It felt like a really well made and great trem.bridge. And the copper makes it look quite unique. Surprised that Schaller discontinued it.
  11. Not a Hamer player but one hell of a guitarist. Thought some of you might find this interesting.
  12. You guys missed Brad Gillis. But I am now going to ask a very relevant question: where was Gus G ??? 😄
  13. Must be something he regrets. What a low point in ones career. 😆
  14. Haha, I thought it was some kind of mod done to the amp.
  15. Any rock guitarist who does now want "volume in the skeleton" is not fit to call themselves a rock guitarist. Yees, bands suing each other for playing to loud. It's truly the end of the era of Rock N Roll.
  16. What is a "Peter Dinklage"? A friend had one of those Marshall Zakk Wylde mini stacks. It was fun to play.
  17. Does it sound good/great? If the wiring does not impact negatively on the tone then leave it be and don't open it up again, ever. I would not bother. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  18. What do you guys think the outcome of this will be? Will the museum give Mick the guitar back, or reimburse him finacially? Or will they just pretend that it's raining and go about their business? Will there be some kind of official investigation on how the person who owned this guitar collection got in possesion of this guitar?
  19. I just watched to Ozzy thing. Zakk Wylde should be banned from wearing that skirt already. Maybe it once was cool. But now, not so much.
  20. No, check my previous post. I use a free program called Any Video Converter.
  21. I did not know it even excisted anymore? Downloading from youtube is way easier.
  22. I have been using AVC for many years. Always works. Also for Facebook videos and other platforms. https://www.any-video-converter.com/en8/for_video_free/
