  1. How about something *really* different, that isn't being made by another manufacturer? http://www.thewho.net/whotabs/images/bass/...rd_rsg-2_th.jpg http://www.thewho.net/whotabs/images/bass/...ncas_rsg_th.jpg I'm sure the gen-II Cruisebass necks would work just fine, use either Phatcats or even better....these! http://www.rsguitarworks.net/rsstore/produ...products_id=428 chrome hardware including p/u rings; maple neck, mmmm...good!
  2. You missed Al continuing to bring up shit that happened so long ago, that I can't remember when it *did* actually happen. I was being sarcastic as I am prone to do...

  8. I don't even know (or care, before you send me a link) what that is. It's bad enough that kids have free reign and access to the Internet, and in too many cases without any supervision what-so-ever, but now they have a geometrically expanding network on which they can share all of the perversions that they have discovered with eachother. This and the gangsta rap mentality are going to make us all very sorry when this generation gets to be "of age" and gives birth to a generation of their own. Not to sound too much like the Matre de at Chez Quis, but "I weep for the future." I don't think that eliminating access to the internet or a computer would help; it's lack of parenting. Before the home computer existed you had similar problems, not as rampant but they were there. You can't expect the child to grow up with any sense of values or morality when you use the T.V.as a babysitter. And let's face it; greedy and corrupt adults are going to infect their children so the guy and his wife who are shady at work and scam their way to that new BMW or a bigger house are going to rub off on their kids. http://www.myspace.com/hamerbasshead http://www.myspace.com/bandforever27
  9. with a sense of irony everyone you see is chasing their illusions take a dive or sink or swim but together we're in the same pollution in your world escape is swift the nonsense list is all you need to know in the land of dreams you make the right connections then you'll be the hero ecstacy, the cult of me provide our institutions you can live forever beside a grave that stands where people used to function you can join the saviors of our culture vultures circling overhead my sky like the sin of gluttony won't set you free but Betty Ford can help you try you can get all the things you ever needed you can sell people crap and make them eat it where is our John Wayne where's our sacred cowboy now? where are the indians on the hill -there's no indians left to kill where is our John Wayne where's our sacred cowboy now? where are the indians on the hill -there's no indians left to kill people die with oxygen and all their money can't afford a breath people starving everywhere and staring in the face of death prostitutes and politicians lying in their bed together you can be the savior of the poor making all the policies to open up the back door. Bruce Dickinson's "sacred cowboys" and just the chorus from another of his, "the road to hell" "Father forgive me my sins, give me the nails, I'll hammer them in"

  14. in situations like this you feel helpless like there's nothing you can do, but the reality of it is you can spend time with him and be strong and try to make him comfortable and know how you feel. all the best from us....
  15. sorry for your loss...I lost my father a few years back and the empty space that was left seemed like the grand canyon, but over time I came to realize that although he isn't here now,I'll always have the memories and so he'll always be here.... It will take some time but you'll realize how lucky you were to have the time together you did and you'll treasure the memories.
  16. my uncle charlie would always yell "play with your hands...not with your face!!!"
  17. + 1 on the dbx driverack....
  18. clarify this for me; in "hotel california" the guitar sounded like shit or did the vocals sound like shit too? does the guitar have a preamp or were you plugging it straight into the mixer? If it's a piezo pickup without the preamp, you may have an impedance problem, it may not be the mixer at all. Is the peavey stereo or mono? if it's stereo you will be running 8 ohms per side cutting your headroom by about 30% maybe more. You don't need 15's to get bass but you do need cabinets designed to reproduce it. I am using 2 cabinets I built myself with 2 10's in each with horns on top for music playback and for light to medium pa use; and the 10's aren't anything fancy but the cabinets are big and heavy and made for truly full range sound and I'd put them up against anything you could buy costing 2 or 3 times what they cost to build. The carvin mixers are really nice, I also am using the 1644p and it is great. If I can find a power amp for the right price I may add another pair of 2x 10"s and use 2 channels of the carvin for monitors. I won't have a problem micing drums for a medium sized club with the additional pair of boxes.
  19. short scale standard 12 string bass in red dragonskin...or is it snakeskin?
  20. I had a good laugh with most of these.... but to be a little more serious (ok I'm the wet blanket!); although there's no official factory tour/ lunch/ jam.... we haven't getting together because a few of us won't show because someone (in a relatively influentual position) who officially has no axe to grind with another party (in the same catagory) will be there......
  21. for the most part, I'm happy with the EMG P/J combo on all the 4 strings I own; except the fretless frankenjazz which has dimarzio j's with series/parallel wired to the push/pull pots I have as volume controls....I love the pickups and the switching but I'm dissatisfied with the taper of the pots, but can't seem to find an alternative....btw it also has a EMG PA-2 preamp to bring the output levels up to the 4 string's active pickups + exb tone control. On my 12 string basses I have L=500 OBL's but not the hottest variant, I've tried the high output version in a B12-A and Chap 12 I've since sold, but they seemed to muddy. the stock EMG's on the 12 string basses hurt my ears, and I don't like them at all.... currently my only dillemna (damn that looks so wrong but I'm too lazy to spellcheck it!) is on my doubleneck....I like the EMG's on the 4 string but the EMG's on the 8 string side seem a little screechy or strident if you will ... I'm debating swapping them but for as much as I'm willing to strap on that heavy s.o.b. I'm not sure if I should bother.
  22. BUMP!!!! please reply if you are interested so we can try to make some sor of decision as to whether or not to go ahead....
  23. I thought of this immediately when saw the post stating the tour was not happening this year; but put off posting this til now.... I don't know about anyone else, but the tour is cool but the part I really look forward to is before the tour in Kim's office, Holly-Ann's famous cookies, lunchtime talking with everyone and hoping *&%$#@ FUNG doesn't move my seat, Dinner, THE JAM and the hotel after-party and Saturday breakfast (and a few other things I won't mention in the interest of keeping the peace. How do you guys and girls feel about getting together either in Winsor Locks (as usual) or somewhere else for a get-together without the tour part??? I look forward to seeing you idjits as much as anyone I know....(Well most of you anyway!) any thoughts?
