  1. wish I had seen this sooner..
  2. Very nice HHB. Really liked your tone.
  3. First let me say that the Monaco Elite Mahogany is a tone machine! No bling and all zing! Someone got a spetacular buy on that guitar. Secondly, there is good resale in "collectable" Hamers. Price a Virtuoso if you can find one. Standards and Sunbursts from the 70's bring very repectable prices and prices for older Hamers are rising. Albeit not like a rocket but they are going up. Been pricing T51 or Daytona's lately? I bought many of them not too lang ago for $300 to $400. They routinely fetch $750 + in good shape an I recently saw a NOS T51 that someone bought for $1000. New Hamers are priced competively with the other premium brands and you get a guitar that has more "hands on" in its manufacture than any of them. As for me, I like the fact that Hamers are "under the radar". that's more buying power for us for guitars with quality that is second to none.
  4. There are some clean Talladega tone in this clip. http://www.premierguitar.com/Video/2007102..._Talladega.aspx
  5. I agree that with all of the reference to tele like tones the Tally can cop there are no clean clips out there. Maybe if Arnie Z will let me pay him a visit we can put some down. Not that he couldn't do it; I just want to play his Tally! He has one sweet Tally.
  6. for me the two best are : Paul McCartney and Chris Squire.
  7. A "Better" tele is really subjective. I've owned a bunch of them from just about ever manufacturer you could think of (Fender, Hamer T51, Suhr, Anderson, Robin, Melancon, Nash, G&L, Rose....etc..) But for me it has come back full circle to Fenders being the best tele. Everything else is really a copy or spinoff of the design.
  8. Kiz..Hilarious but oh so true. i did the same thing with a strat. Option #3 is the best advice.
  9. Happy birthday boys!
  10. I sure hope they don't handle Hamer like the rest of their line. If so we'l be seeing the likes of American Series Artist, MIJ Artist, MIM Artist, Squire Artist, FSR Artist, etc........
  11. Night Ranger - "Sister Christrian" "MOTORING...................."
  12. Happy Birthdays Boys!
  13. I know that somebody here was at NAMM and spent some time with a Talledaga. How about an initial report on it?
  14. They are bolt neck guitars of the highest build quality. Great fret work, tremendous fit and finish; Top notch all the way. However, IMHO they suffer from the same thing as many of the other high quality bolt neck guitars I've owned or played (Anderson, Melancon). While they are superbly built instruments they are sterile sounding; they don't have the soul one would expect from such a high quality guitar. YMMV
  15. My thoughts and prayers go out to Frank and his family.
  16. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
  17. I flew to Nashville in August with a tele in a gigbag. I had no problem getting through security and the stewardess put it into a coat closet in first class during the flight.
  18. CEEB.......You have all the fun! LOL
  19. Very nice job!
  20. Happy Birthday Dave
  21. So sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad ten years ago and there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him. Everything that you think about your Dad that brings a tear to your eye today will bring a smile to your face in years to come. Embrace the good times and thoughts you hold about him. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
  22. Radial Tonebone Classic - I've had a bunch over the years and this thing just gets it done the way I like it! Extremely versatile tone machine.
