  7. Hey! I know you! I hear your wedding is the weekend after the HFC Minneapolis gathering. Think we are planning a Dean thing up there on Sunday too. We'll tip a drink or two in your honor! The Punisher.
  8. This is a Very Cool "then" shot! Any chance at adding a "now" shot Jurgen? Brent, your recent FB purchase made me get my '86 Scepter out to play to help suppress the G.A.S. it induced. Great buy on your part.
  9. Man, those are some Cool specs. Wish I could afford something like that at the moment. A lot of great guitar ideas out there lately.
  10. I love the finishes on my '77-'81 Hamers!
  11. Now we're playing.
  12. AHROOOOOOOWWWW! Well this thread went no where!
  13. OH HELLS YA!!! This looks SO cool! One of those Jr. Standards with a Sustain Block on it or one of these.... http://www.allparts.com/AVT2G-G-Bridge-p/gb-2578-002.htm Oh MY!!! I'm having that Tonepros bridge and Tonepros Klusons put on my new Baby Dean Z. Gawd that would be a SWEET Hamer!!!
  14. No one has a muttly looking Hamer that actually is a really great guitar? Edited to add: the two above dont look muttly at all. They look rather well kept. Post your scratched, checked, chipped, Hamer instead.
  15. So I had to use a case to take my Dean P90 Z somewhere today and in that one's case was this lil '86 Hamer Scepter. Menagerie of parts it seems from appearances but everyone is of original era if not the "right" color. I like the "mutt" look. It hides the Beast inside. I dont get some of my horde out enough. This seems like one of those after the hour I spent after I came back home with the P90 Z. I went to put the Scepter away in the case and while carrying it to the case, I said to myself, hmmm let me play this a lil while. I have not had it out in months, it was barely out of tune, and the Floyd is blocked but so what. The Duncan Distortion bridge and Pearly Gates neck pickup combo is real crunchy and tasty. Thanks to Hamstd for the basic unit and a few HFCers that contributed parts. Life IS Good! Show us your mutt that howls!
  16. Since 2005, Dave Hlubek has been plaing with Molly Hatchet again... one of the two original members. Dave is a Dean Guitars endorsee too. He is still big as a house and wails but I have not seen him in The Bobby Ingram Band , I mean Molly Hatchet, with him back in it yet. I met Dave about 6 months after I bought 0189 in a Jacksonville club and he told me the guitar "wasn't any good any more and wouldn't hold a tune on the G string". By then it had had a once over by my favorite local tech with the nut setup for 10-46 so I wasn't having any problems. Kept it the same as the day I bought it for 14 years. I had to get it refretted in '96 and I had a new nut put on it then, but no other parts were ever changed. Stays in tune just Fine Dave. Think he was just irked he pawned it and lost it? Right after I met Dave, Late Spring of '83, I also called the Hamer offices and gave them the serial numbers of the two guitars I had requesting any info. In a couple days a call was returned to me. It was a Frank but dont recall which of the two it was, Frank U. or Frank R.. He wasn't to happy about the sum I had paid for them, the fact Dave had pawned them, and asked if I had receipts from the pawn shop. I did. I think my heart palpatated a few seconds when he told me that, yes, the Standard was made for Dave but how he got the Vector was a question as it was made for Michael Schenker. Dave had told me they toured together and he gave it to Dave at the last date together but he never played it. I think in recall that irked Frank a lil more too. Frank wished me well and I've been a Hamer owner since with 24.5 to my name. The .5 is a '93 Daytona neck mounted on a late '70s Mighty Mite Explorer body. I have since learned 0189 is the Standard right after James Honeyman-Scott's and 3 numbers before Dez Dickerson's, of Prince's band at the time, Standard. Nice company of owners. My Hamers: http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26447 My .5 a Hamer..... MDHM Armitage there has quite a few Hamers too. Life is Good eh Bill?
  17. wow, that is very cool info. Thanks Paul, and welcome!! mike #0189 went to Dave Hlubek and I got it in December 1982 after a 60 day layaway for $425 from Ralph's Pawn Shop in Jacksonville, Fl. Dave had pawned it and few other guitars. I also bought #0415 a Black and White Vector Dave had pawned. Foolishly traded it 4 years later and it is my "One That Got Away" guitar. I got the Vector for $400 on that same layaway plan. Life IS Good! Whackhead, #0076, and Sherry Baby, #0189
  18. Welcome Aboard Paul. I see you have been a member for awhile but I for one missed it. First and foremost, thanks to you for going to Woodstock! I read it's partly because of that event in your life, I'm lucky to own several Hamers including 5 pre '81s including Standards 0076 and 0189. Been a Hamer fan since early '78 and an owner since '82. Life Is Good! Thanks for making today just that better by joining in. Hope to read more from you. Thanks Greg for helping this to happen.
  19. I be stunned and amazed!
  20. Combination - ROCKS Aerosmith Girls Got Rythymn - Highway To Hell AC/DC
  21. Nice family shot. Enjoy!!!
  22. Photo history of Crue. Should be Hamer filled or at least a few. Hopefully not TOOOO many busted ones from Nikki.
  23. I own #0189 and James Honeyman-Scott's was #0188. Cool to know 3 in a row and they all look similar as does #0192. Wonder what #0191 looks like and where it is. I have had 10-46s on mine for 25 years. Plays well. No neck issues. Now body binding.....
  24. Happy Happy Birthday Birthday Belated Belated.......
  25. If anything it should have been one like this.... Sammy Columbus, Ohio October '79 I always think of him with an Explorer or his Dean Baby ML. He has always had a Red Les Paul too it seems. Even sang about it... Crank up the drums, Crank up the bass, Crank up my Les Paul in your face......"
