Okay, I should know this but I'm too lazy. Here's the scenario as I know it so far. A former bandmate is giving me a Marshall 1936 series 2x12 cab I found for him in the mid 90s. Going pick it up today (all-day road trip). Don't know if it's 16 or 8 ohms yet, or if it has the 16/8 ohm switch on the back like the newer ones. Unsure of the Celestions in it, but they're likely either 70s or 75s. My Bluesbreaker reissue is two 8 ohm Greenbacks wired for 16 ohms (parallel?). The ohm selector on the back of the amp is thus set for 16 ohms. It's the three-way rotary switch that dials 4, 8 or 16. It has two speaker jacks - one for the internals and one for an external cab. So what's going to happen when I get this new-to-me cab home if it's non-switchable and 16 ohms? 8 ohms? Looking for the easiest hookup option.

Few snaps from the weekend ... Bruce, Vonnie and The Penguin Gary Wayne Dio Goofin' on the couch ... Me 'n' Bruce jammin ... -
BruceM and friend Barb all the way from Minni-SO-tah are going to be at my humble Cajun abode in a couple of hours. Gwayne and a buddy from his work are in from Georgia and he's told me his stomach and liver need a good beating. They're due to arrive any minute now. I've got a shrimp, lump meat crab and okra gumbo on the stove for their arrival. The airboat is lined up for tomorrow morning for a little jaunt in the Atchafalaya Basin Swamp to meet, eh, critters. In between zydeco breakfast and an evening at the zydeco roadhouse. Cajun Boy, Foodermon, Gray, SteveB, hell, any of y'all ... don't be shy ... COME ON!!

I cannot verbalize what that record did and what the player still does for me. But I can play what the record and the guitarist did for me, just not quite as good.

Well, now I know that they're not twins...

Happies out to both of ya -
Don't know if it would necessarily damage it, but I'd expect it could build up and cloud out over time.

I always wondered about the member number thing because I know I was one of the first ones to signup when the change to this board format was made.

Music Man's new Reflex model is chambered with a forearm bevel. Body is bent maple top over a basswood and mahogany body (the mahogany is a strip they call their "tone block between the bridge and the neck joint). It supposedly has some versatile pickup-switching options.

NICE tone! Rich and lush. Great work!!

Damn. Positive vibes, brother (and sister Beth).

Holy sheeets that's gorgeous.

Great stuff Johnny!. And that bass is GORGEOUS.

What's the best bang for the $ with acoustic guitar's

I practically stole a nearly mint Ovation USA 1778T Elite w/OHSC for right at $300 used a coupla weeks ago at the local GC and just love the thing. Best sounding Ovation I've ever heard and action is like an electric. Love the ebony fingerboard. The textured flat black is kinda goth looking but I can live with it for the way the guitar sounds and plays. I just found two in GC's used gear database for under $500. If you inquire, check and make sure they are USA models - two cosmetically similar ones at the local store were rosewood fingerboard imports, like the one above. -
Which is the "most metal" guitar brand?

Gotta go BC Rich on this one. Unless there's some starving Delta blues artist in rural Mississippi playing a Warlock I'm unaware of. -
I'd suggest keeping the 10s and loosening the truss rod just a wee bit. Give yourself some slink via relief.

That is correct, my main gigging guitar AND my main gigging amp came from the Feynman stable. I guess if I ever delve into classical guitar, I'll have to hit up his stash again haha

Last night was the TTL debut of The Penguin ... I'm sure the snaps will convey the message that I am head over heels in love with this guitar. Me and Vonnie were looking at all the photos today and it's apparent I only spent about five minutes playing this incredible guitar in a traditional guitar-playing position. I'm in love with this thing!! And a huge thank you to our Dearest Feynman. Thanks with all my head, heart and soul, Mitch. You are truly incredible.

I'm going to have to beat you out on the cancellation, Bruce. Just compared the dates and we're playing the big annual fundraiser for the zoo in Jackson, Mississippi. I can't pass on that -- it would break the giraffes' hearts. LOL But you guys have a ton o' fun without me

Just got off the phone with Jaye, he's coming off three gigs in 24 hours (aka, pummeled physically via sleep deprivation and playing your fingers and heart out) and he's still so giddy about the great news. I'd be too. Damn awesome.

Sweet!
