      I saw your other post first... I like what Joe is building my main concern is used value.  I sold my T2 Severn for about 2K it has T1 Lollar pickups and a few other upgrades.

       

      The pickups are BKs but are they rebel yells? Also no etching on the covers from what I can see or is it the angle?

      They aren't Rebel Yells in the SSC models...Just "SSC" pickups.  I'm told they are more vintage sounding than the Rebels.

    I could care less who's a "better/faster" guitarist. Ace Frehley single handedly launched the careers of a bazillion guitar players. Ace always had attitude, groove and feel to his playing.

    I'm not understanding why you'd use a distortion FX into a high end amp like a JVM....do the gain channels on it suck? Regardless, my vote is amp.

    Meh, play what makes you happy...and if along the way, what you spent makes you feel better, have at it. In the end, if you're a gigging musician, no one in the audience really cares, except other guitarists. I have a killer Gibson R8 that I absolutely love and I have cheap ass MIM Fender Cabronita that I love even more.

    He won't play it live. He uses those god awful Washburn Firebird wannabe things now, although I suspect he gets paid handsomely for doing so. Like many, I'm a musician because of KISS but I really hope they just go away after the Hall of Fame induction. But it won't happen.

    I custom ordered a TL60 a few years back. Waited about six months for it and it took less than six hours of playing it to know it was a dud so it went right back for a refund. It looked beautiful but the tone was dead dead dead.

    The 60 in the neck is awesome for clean tones.

    Put an EMG 60 in the neck and I think your problem gets solved. I have an Explorer with that exact combination and love it. All my other guitars have passive pups. While lots of people seem to hate EMGs, I think they have their place.
