You're friend should have immediately bought a lottery ticket, because you don't get much luckier than that.

Agreed, on both counts

I know a lot of you are not fans of the good old Grateful Dead, but this one hurts. Booby Weir passed today at the age of 78. A master rhythm player with a unique style that helped the dead be the dead. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/bob-weir-grateful-dead-dead-obituary-1234810106/

Auto Microphone Mute for Live Performances
G Man replied to Dutchman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
The Grateful Dead had mic on/off pads in front of their microphones back in the 80s. Step up to the mic, and it's on, step back, and it's off. Pretty straight forward answer to this problem. -
I had a Hofner Club bass for a while, it was a fun little instrument with a great tone, and nice a light. Was great for dub and could get an almost upright tone with flats and the right rig. It will be a shame to see them go, but understandable.

One of the great Texas singer/songwriter godfather's of Americana, rest in peace Joe Ely. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/15/obituaries/joe-ely-dead.html

A true legend indeed. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/03/arts/music/steve-cropper-dead.html

Congrats on that, a fine specimen. My first Hamer was a Phantom Custom that had been modded with a neck P90, and then a minibucker. If it had not weighed the same as a mid-sized boat anchor, I would still own that guitar.

Good bye to one of the early pioneers of reggae music. RIP Rude Boy. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/11/24/arts/music/jimmy-cliff-dead.html

As are the rockers they are making fun of, which is the beauty of the thing. -

I'm very much looking forward to it, can't imagine it will be anything but a hoot. -
Agreed, which is why I've never bought a pre-wired assembly.

Fair warning, building teles can be addictive. Nice job on your first build, looks like a great guitar. Saul, Mojotone makes good wiring kits and they don't take nearly as long to ship. I find the four way switch option a versatile way to go. https://mojotone.com/products/pre-wired-tele-4-way-mod-guitar-wiring-harness?variant=41689792774240
