  1. I might like burgers more than guitars.
  2. Double smash burger crunch wrap. Big Bob's City Grill, Hillsborough NC Double w/pepper jack, jalapenos, habanero ketchup and guac. Tommy's Mini Mart Grill, Durham NC Triple smash sourdough patty melt.
  3. Just because it's not a stock option (and I don't need 'em) doesn't mean Sully wouldn't build something with 24 frets, deposits make things happen. 😉
  4. I've never done fabric before, never been asked. Doesn't mean I wouldn't but would obviously want to do a test piece first.
  5. That's pretty much the gist.of it. 😄
  6. You don't want a tone report from me, it'll sound like a kid that didn't read the book trying to bullshit their way through a book report in front of the class. 😄
  7. That one was completely custom and the guy I had make them has dropped off the face of the earth sadly.
  8. I honestly can't remember my last "new" guitar as most everything I have is some kind of mutt or project but after many years I finally pulled a guitar out of a shipping box that I didn't have to take apart and refinish. I've been very familiar with Sully Guitars for at least a decade now but never actually played one. The gamble paid off as I really like it. Anywho how about some pics? I had these silly knobs custom engraved... Sully ran with the basic white lady, Hobby Lobby decor schtick. I did not know he was going to do it but I laughed really hard. The model is called the Raven but with all this nonsense I'm spelling it "Reighvynn". And just to balance it out...
  9. I have the Ceriatone JCM52 (2 channel JCM 800) that sounds very good and is very well built so if imagine their Plexis are good as well. The pricing on them is very good and if you can get one used like I did it's a really good deal. Cruise the classifieds on The Gear Page, something should turn up.
  10. I'm probably not the best person to ask. I haven't bothered to set them up together and do an ABC comparison. I have band practice usually once a week, sometimes once every two weeks and those dudes are not going to put up with me going a Guitar Player Magazine gear shootout at practice. 😄 I will say that one of the guys is a jaded old soundman and has been really impressed with the Lion. The IR-J is the most versatile out of the group though.
  11. Damn loud for 15 watts. I like the presence/resonance controls and the FX loop that the PS-2A adds to the equation. I also have a Lion and an IR-J and they also sound damn good.
  12. Yep and the 86 posted above listed as a factory finish shows no pore filler when you zoom in so I suspect that one was stripped as well.
  13. Seeing these and zooming in I am pretty certain that is not how it left Hamer. The paint in the bottom of the control cavity looks factory and they would not have painted just the cavity gloss black if the guitar was only getting a clear/natural finish. Also what appears to be a lack of pore filler is another sign it was stripped. The finish on the neck looks unbuggered but the body being stripped is going to hurt the resale value unfortunately.
  14. Hamer did do some plain clear finishes over figured maple but I don't recall ever seeing any mahogany bodied shredders with a factory clear only finish. I have however encountered several shredder era Hamers where former owners stripped the OEM finish and gave it a DIY New Yankee Workshop style Minwax clear. I tried zooming in on the pics you posted to get a better look but they're pretty compressed/fuzzy so I can't really get a good look.
  15. The pictures aren't great but it looks to me like the body's original finish was removed at some point. If so that's not exactly excellent condition.
  16. I want to gig with several mini Marshall stacks as a backline and a custom built full size Chiquita.
  17. Looks like a hobby/amateur luthier version of a Schon guitar from the 80s.
  18. Yeah heavy relics are ugly...
  19. Looking at the 24 frets and offset dot markers I'm 99.9% certain it's a Centaura.
  20. It looks to me like somebody stripped the finish off a Centaura and added a pickguard.
  21. I had a friend nearby who worked at the Arlington Heights and New Hartford shops reshape it for me. 😄 It's shorter than an unmolested Hamer headstock. Serial number was long gone so no idea, didn't think to look at the code on the pots.
  22. The owner of Guitar Pickers in Wilmington NC hit me up to see if I could turn this one around, there were no bolts through the headstock but it was pretty bad... I don't keep my opinion on relics secret and while I did appreciate the Evel Knievel-esque design I agreed to take this one in hoping I wouldn't regret it-sometimes going behind someone that doesn't know how to properly sand is a fucking nightmare. Anyway, before. After. There's a few more rehabs in the queue that I will post when completed, a couple will be for sale too.
