  1. I'm going to have to look back into his stuff. The only full album of his I have is Jumpin' Jive, but my band did pick up Is She Really Going Out With Him recently. Cool chords in that one.
  2. Silk purse from a sow's ear. Cool look.
  3. I'd love for a DC jam to happen. I'm a couple of hours away and would definitely attend that one.
  4. Totally cool! Don't do it! I'll sell you my well-cared for copy for $320. It was almost over before I realized that was John Paul Jones on bass (I think).
  5. Thanks for the reminder. I think I'll listen to that tomorrow.
  6. On the "Best Year" topic, I think we all have our own definition of that. Mine is '79, although '76, '77, '78, and '80 were good for me too. I've had this discussion with MANY people over the years and it seems like a lot of us think the best year(s) in music was right around the time we were 13-17 years old. That's certainly true in my case.
  7. Lots of Blackberry Smoke. Saw them last Thursday and again last night. GREAT band!
  8. Sounds awesome! You're one of the good ones.
  9. Another Perfect Day is my favorite too. The songs may not have been as "Motorhead" as the earlier albums, but I think most people would have to concede the guitar playing was probably the best they've ever had. YMMV.
  10. I was waiting for a KAPOW-worthy moment but didn't see it either. I think we all still kind of expect the worst when Eddie and Dave get together.
  11. Dang! I have tickets to the Hampton, VA show in July. I hope everything works out.
  12. NOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I think his insurance should pay for it and if not, you make sure you pay no more than store cost.
  14. I was in a band that did Next To You and it went over well. I f'n LOVED playing it!
  15. I turned 48 last week and got rid of all my V's. Oh wait, I didn't have any. However, I do have a burst Standard and a Zandard, and I bought the pinkburst Dean Cadillac from David B a few weeks ago. Am I too old to play those in public? I think Rick Nielsen would agree you don't get too old to play crazy-looking guitars.
  16. Wooooooooooow! Beautiful!
  17. Angus is nowhere near as lively as he was in his younger days. Malcolm's exactly the same.
  18. It's starting to look one of us is burglarizing the other's house. I have the guitar lamp you have on my computer desk, the Beatles prints in individual frames in my living room, and a Standard like that (except for a bound headstock).
  19. What do I win for being so quick? From the first 10 seconds, I was wondering if it would kick in heavier full-electric band style. When it finally did it was just a tease, but it makes me want to hear what happens next.
  20. svl, this is Blood and Fire, the one I posted earlier today. If you have a link for Stay Frosty, I'd love to hear it.
  21. Wolfie may not be able to sing, but he can play! Check out the Cafe Wha video for She's The Woman. He's all over that bass and playing great melodic lines.
  22. I want to see that DVD! I didn't know but 2-3 of their songs until Classic Rock magazine put a free CD of Joe Elliot's Mott cover band and all of those songs were great! I still pull that out on a regular basis.
  23. Like it or not, we're all talking about it and my FB friends are too. They're getting back on everyone's mind and that's a good thing. After listening to it a few more times, it's grown on me some and I really do have high hopes for the new album even if it's just to check out what they've done to their old songs She's The Woman and Bullethead and to see if they used any other old riffs for the new ones.
