  2. Black Country Communion - Self-Titled Warren Haynes - Man In Motion Eric Johnson - Up Close Jeff Beck - Emotion & Commotion Steve Lukather - All's Well That Ends Well That's pretty much it for new stuff for 2010/early 2011
  3. I think Linda Ronstadt owns that one! I'll vote for VH.
  4. Thanks for reminding me of my rapidly advancing age! My fifteen year-old son has the whole album on his iPod. Timeless!
  5. A man that learns the setlist, puts in the time and gets THAT call should be paid. I'm just sayin'.
  6. "Vitriol". Not me. I'm just funnin' around. I am, however, the guy that made the comparison to the JG headstock. The thread on TGP takes up that question front and center. That's my point. Jol's website is extremely vague, while quite price specific. We all get it in our own way.
  7. Hey Poe: I thought about posting a thread at TGP about the headstock, but I though the JG hounds might come to call. Good work! I e-mailed the new company and asked for pricing on just one guitar. Crickets............................
  8. You mean the Gustavsson headstock?
  9. Good luck!
  10. I've got a Strat style body with two hums (Dimarzio Tone Zone and Air Norton) w/ a Floyd Rose (chrome) in Powder Blue with a maple neck (black dots, thin and wide) w/ a matching headstock and repro Charvel logo. It looks like a vintage Charvel with the Strat style headstock. Finish is semi-pro. If you are up close it has orange peel, but it's really pretty good. Sounds great. Gig bag. $700 shipped.
  11. Something Anyting is a no brainer. I like Hermit of Mink Hollow best second. I also love his production and contributions to Rick Derringer's "Guitars and Women" album. Hello It's Me and I Saw the Light are two of my faves. Something Warm on the Derringer album is classic Rundgren.
  12. I'm working on it. Got a few things to sell locally before I can get it. I really can't believe it wasn't the first guitar to go. The blonde Studio is just fabulous. If it was painted flat black, it would be a great guitar. Thanks, Bubs. I get to play her with the band Thursday night. In the words of my fourteen year old son; it's BEAST!
  13. wow......I need a matching switch tip.
  14. The Studio is here. The Wolftone Dr. Vintage Double Whites are in. I'm guessing Bubs is a master of understatement. This guitar is amazing. Thank you, my friend. I'm really not sure how the Zandard is hanging around this long. If it hangs around much longer, it'll be a Floridian.
  15. The Studio lands at the beach on Friday. Now, I'm trying to find a way to get the Zandard. It's a longshot, but you never know. And I won't be making offers. The standing price is just fine.
  16. Might want to check w/ Bubs. I'm buying the guitar sans pickups.
  17. I just couldn't turn away. Too beautiful. Too nice. I can't wait! Wolftone's to enter upon arrival. Thanks, Bubs.
  18. Offered $1,100 for the Studio Blonde shipped. Never heard back. I'd like it, if you can.
  19. As I remember, this was a great album to listen to stoned. The first band I played in played The Temples of Syrinx and A Passage to Bangkok. I was 16 and I was the guitar player and singer. We played Freebird and Hey Baby by Ted Nugent too. Wierd times. A strange list to be sure.
  20. No Florida history mentioned yet. I bought a black Sunburst with crowns in 1978 from Wanda and Jimmy at Music City in Orlando. It was a 1977 or early '78. Here's a couple of pics that are all I have.... The last time I got a chance to talk to Paul was back in the repair area at Ace Music with Martin Barre. Martin was playing a few cuts from his solo album. It was a great day and Paul was there until the last person left. A great memory to be sure.
  21. I understand the replies, but you need to understand a few things. Your amp won't sound the same. It will be thinner and the farther it is from you, the more it will sound "foreign". Stage volume will matter less in the overall mix, so get your amp as close to you as possible. If you have a good mix in the monitors, that should mitigate the thinner than usual tone. You'll also hear less of your bandmates. If the stage is large, you'll really need to have your monitor mix with the drums and bass mixed in more than in a room environment. It is a challenge and your post is evident of your concern. It's well founded. Playing on an outside stage can be a great experience, but you have to have "your tone" and be able to hear your bandmates in an even mix. Don't get freaked out, if it's thinner than you're used to. The mix out front will be drastically different than what you hear. Never equate the stage sound with the "house". The two are mutually exclusive in a room that big! Just have fun and don't panic if the mix you hear isn't what you're used to. Cause it won't be. Dogs can sense fear and so can large crowds of people. Have fun and nail your parts. If it isn't the tone and mix you're used to, that's the game. The folks in the crowd aren't hearing what you are. And they are there to have a good time. If you're having a good time, it translates. Just my three cents.
  22. Three and a half hours. Can't find Jay on the Hamer site. Luckily, I get to see him once a year at the Orlando Guitar Show. Usually has a few Hamers. Sometimes the same ones as the previous year. Lots of nice Heritage guitars too. Another guitar company with terrible re-sale value.
  23. I've always wondered why Hamers have such depressed re-sale values. But it's been that way for a long time. I think it has much to do with offering "off shore" models that are basically the same guitar for 25% the cost of the American model. Then, I think of the PRS cheapos and wonder what the difference might be. Those price-point imports don't seem to hamper the re-sale value of the PRS guitars in any way. Part of me is happy that I bought a killer near-mint 1981 Special last year for just a tad above a grand. A twenty eight year old vintage guitar for a song. The new guitars, in my opinion, are not overpriced for the instruments turned out. I do know that there isn't one dealer within hours of my home where I can play one. I can go twenty miles either way (Daytona Beach or Orlando) and play just about every other manufacturer's guitars. I'd have to drive hours to Dr. Cluck's Music Emporium. A website search tells me to stay home. No Hamers. In fact, I can't find a Hamer Dealer within three to four hours. There's Cluck's in Florida, Jordan Music in Albany Georgia, and Alabama isn't even in the picklist for Hamer Dealers. A whole three states with two dealers. Just using Hamer website searches, but that's depressing. I think two advertised dealers in three contiguous states is the answer to this compelling question, no? Sorry to be so blunt. Only experienced and knowledgable players/collectors will buy without the most important thing to everyone else buying a guitar; holding the guitar.
  24. We'll probably see 4-digit Standard reissues when they can put a $10k price on them and have buyers. My point exactly. It ain't ever gonna' happen. One can wish!
