  1. When is it? It's -3C here today. A bailing twine show sounds interesting so long as it's in Orlando!
  2. Random comments as I scan through the list: Maggot Brain! "Say What?" a "long-winded instrumental"? It is my understanding the recorded version of the "White Room" solo was Clapton's first use of the wah pedal - he plugged it in and they hit record.
  3. Other than my Shishkov deposit, I don't think I even bought strings this year! Maybe some pickups? Or was that last year? I think I bought an RS wiring kit from Bubs... yes, for the Strat... Man, 2014 was a blur...
  4. Yep, I'm gladly in the same boat and will accept the decision either way. It's worth it, whatever the outcome.
  5. Rogue beater bar and some bumper plates, shifters for my beater mountain bike project, a Kershaw Black Blur and a Leatherman Sidekick! Also, a really great seasonal email in German from HFCer Capridriver! Thanks, Google Translate! I'z a gooboy!
  6. Out of all of the shots you guys posted from the Hamer shop over the years, the heel blend shots were the ones that absolutely terrified me. Serious savagery! It is incredible (and beautiful) how it all turns out, but man, to go at that hog with such coarse tools is too close to Michael Myers or Jason for me!
  7. Take a lude corncob! Nobody forced you to click on this thread. Wow-that was an ill-advised post... Don't know you, but why don't you come on in and piss all over the furniture, ok? Maybe it's not so surprising the HOC fell apart, after all...
  8. Sure, for your choices you're derided for a season, but when it's all said and done isn't this the point of any costume?
  9. Actually, he just turned 12 in August - can't comment on his maturity level vs. Diablo's, but I have not seen my son in snakeskin tights...
  10. I haven't had a Hamer for years. It's not a requirement. What you do need is the Hamer attitude. Without that you'll be derided, abused and ultimately leave or get kicked out. This board is seriously cool, a perfect mix of respect, bad attitudes, deep knowledge and deeper hilarity. Kinda like my hometown. Hey, don't take away my excuse to buy a new guitar. It's a much better excuse than my usual one of having managed to get up and dragged myself to the office in the morning Seriously, I'll be fine here I think. Everybody seemed pretty cool when I posted a few months ago. It's just that getting integrated takes a while... Oh, and the lack of tapatalk capability on teh forum is a bit of a bummer as I do most of my posting on the train commute from my phone.. I'm still waiting to see what Torn is cooking up with the exiles page IPB Buddy It's not quite as nice as Tapatalk IMO, but it gets the job done just fine.
  11. On a side note: Bubs, you really out did yourself on that one! ETA:
  12. In all seriousness, my son's favorite Hamer - ever! When you had the pic of that as your signature he made me scroll back every time he passed by the desk.
  13. Ah, well... Somebody's getting a great one! I'm sure 0023 will be great, too.
  14. Is that one, perhaps, 0023?
  15. You can't "over ground," but you can create a ground loop and make the whole thing into a noise antenna. I'd want to know whether the ground is really effective by checking for resistance from a known point of ground to the strings. I'm guessing the strings are connected, but not effectively. One path to ground and make it a good one.
  16. Happy Birthday JohnnyB!
  17. They're only monkey-boys. We can crush them here on earth, Lord Whorfin.

  18. Ooo! Didn't know about that!
  19. Good info. I suppose I was using "Firebird" in the generic sense, but it's great to know who made it. Is it 25.5" scale like a Gibby Firebird? If so, that would be extremely interesting! Gibson Firebirds are 24.75" Scale, not 25.5". Doug Kauer builds the Banshees at a similar 24.75" scale length. Finally, yes...Filtertrons sound great in pretty much anything! Well thanks for that! I've only played one my whole life and that was maybe thirty years ago. I didn't like that particular guitar (very wide flat neck), so I marked it down as a guitar I like the looks of, but that's where the curiosity ended. Not sure where I got the idea of the longer scale length, but I've carried that error for a really long time. Good to learn things I've been too lazy to look up for myself!
