  1. It's a KILLER delay. SOLD to POE pending payment. Thanks, Gents. Geoff
  2. Howdy folks- Up for sale is my TC Electronics Nova Delay w/ box, adapter and manual. Never taken out of the house, or gigged. Still have receipt from a guitar center special order for $229. Looking for $160 shipped/pp'ed. Please EMAIL NOT PM at [email protected] Thanks! Geoff
  3. A Faux Pas, for sure. Did he leave the gas tank empty and wrappers all over the floors too? As long as the guitar's basically okay, it's just a minor inconvenience. But you're a cool guy for lending it out like that. Geoff
  4. Woah - As I read the beginning of the story I thought you meant she was gonna "Put them to SLEEP"... Thank god it went where it did... I like this ending much better - Always an adventure! Geoff
  5. Awesome. Stick it to 'em. Geoff edited to add: Check out "Thank you, Republic Airlines, for breaking the neck of my guitar" by Tom Paxton. It certainly predates this one by decades, but you gotta give it up for grass-roots going global with Youtube!
  6. BWAAH! ROTFLMAO! You also had a what? good lord...*wipes away a tear*
  7. Hiya! Sad Bastard music happens to be a specialty of mine, so I wrote a good starter list for ya, in no particular order, ranging from classic country and modern folk through rock and others. If you make it through the Shindell, I'll have a hotline number waiting for ya. Geoff ----------------------------------------------------- Jolene - by Ray LaMontagne Four Green Fields - any version Cigarette - Ben Folds Because I Told You So - Jonatha Brooke Flies and Blue Skies - King's X Can't Stop Thinkin' About You - Martin Sexton Gone For Good, and In Spite of Me - Morphine When You Come Back Down - Nickel Creek Hurt - Nine Inch Nails I Saw My Youth Today, Nora, Wisteria, Calling the Moon -Richard Shindell (the modern heavyweight champion of the Heart-Stabber Broke Down - Slaid Cleaves Willie Nelson's version of Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain No Blue Sky - The Thorns (Happiest Sad song ever)
  8. Happy Birthday Brother! Drop me a line when you can! Geoff
  9. With the exception of "Aerosmith" and "Beatles" versions of Rock Band, I don't know if anyone at all gets residual licensing, typically it's a lump sum. For example, when Slash did the on-screen character of himself for the last version, he griped that he had to agree to a lump sum or be excluded entirely. But I think it's f*cking CRIMINAL that the formerly great EVH would not only be so deluded as to think that Wolfgang could hold a candle to Michael Anthony, but goes so far as to retroactively REPLACE him on the classics in an obvious virtual "F*CK YOU"... it's just too much...
  10. Happy Birthday! Don't forget to Rock Out! Geoff
  11. Howdy guys! Thank you guys SO much. I had a VERY good time, so I'll be existing on Pepto and Advil for the foreseeable future, but totally worth it. I believe there are photos, so if I can dig some up that aren't too terribly incriminating, I'll post 'em up. But for serious- THANK YOU! Geoff
  12. I believe it was sometime around 1999 - it was after the move to New Hartford if I recall correctly. The original 4-digit run stopped by '85, and there were a small handful of custom orders done after that and before the "reissue" in 1995. I ordered one that arrived in '91 with a veneer top, but it was a slightly thicker veneer than on other 4-digit Standards I've owned. I also bought one of the first '95s off the line, and the top was the same as on my '91. In '99, Jol mentioned that the tops on Standards were being done differently - an actual 1/4" maple top was glued on to the mahogany back and then milled down to spec. I've been playing my '08 Standard a lot lately, so it's out on a stand - I'll check that out tonight and see if I can get a better idea of the final thickness on the current ones. That sounds about right Chris. I left in July 2000 and the change had been in place for awhile. I believe the top thickness spec is .100" (slightly under 1/8 inch). Any difference in the spec for chambered vs. solid?
  13. Chris Johnson is THE MAN!!! Rec'd the Diablo today and it's bliss. EXTREMELY well-packed. How did I go so long without one of these?!?! Couldn't be happier! Hooray for CJ!
  14. I'm totally down. Been looking for a while. Pm and email on the way.
  15. Hey Bro! I had forgotten your birthday was the day before Annie's. Have an awesome birthday, Pal. Geoff
  16. I think I'm getting closer... The speaker is the original Oxford (465-J30-10J4-5B) and the chassis is stamped "A 30417" - Which puts it in 73 or more likely 74. Sound right to the experts?
  17. Followed the link and there was only a basic overview of the specs of the amp. Is there another place where I can plug in the codes, or at least find a series of lists?
  18. Howdy folks! I'm looking to sell my silverface Princeton Reverb and was looking for help on the listing. When I bought it, I believe he told me it was a '70 or '71. No mods aside from a 3-prong cord. Older version without the pull-boost. How do I find out what year, and any other pertinent specs? Thanks! Geoff
  19. Curious about the baggs system. Was it factory or aftermarket install? I have a student who's looking to install one on his LP. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
  20. What's a hand-made Barber Direct Drive worth? I bought one directly from him the day the first review came out in GP, and he sent it to me with hand-written silver sharpie on the casing. They obviously use screen printing now, but what's the original worth?
  21. I did the exact same thing once with active pickups in a bass after wasting several very expensive hours of studio time. A painful but valuable lesson for me! Geoff
