Kim would know and will be around through May. I spoke with Kim about that Newport - it was a brand new, custom Newport and it is since gone. He said it was the last Newport model (of any type) Hamer made. I asked him to look around for any other Hamer's hiding around there and he told me he was confident that Newport was the last new Hamer left in their warehouse. -

Refinish and old wooden desk or scratched cabinet door - sure. But I'd be seriously sweating bullets trying to do anything like that. I don't care how many times you've done that sort of repair, you truly must have nerves of steel. I also love these threads - amazing. -

^ ^ THIS ^ ^ . . . rather than the, "Marginal Utility Factor", its what my buddies refer to as the "Marginal Funtility Factor". Its relevant whether rich, poor or dead in the middle ~ you just feel it and notice it less when you have more money to blow on expensive toys. -
Everyone Okay? Whatcha' Shoveling to?
Boomerang~Junkie replied to Hamerhack's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
It was finally just over 50 degrees here today and about half the grass is now showing. We haven't been able to see any grass for about a month now. We got 13-14 inches in the first storm, then around two a few days later and then a few dustings. And then for about two weeks straight it was cold as a well-digger's ass (at or below zero) and then the slooooow climb out to finally get above freezing. I think our low during that stretch was -11 degrees actual temperature. Now, water mains are broken in the streets everywhere. Snow doesn't usually bother me, but this one started to get on my nerves because for over a week it just blew everywhere no matter how much you plowed or shoveled it just kept recovered things. It sucked - there was no music jamming during any of snowblowings of the driveway/sidewalks - all three times. My snow blower is so damn loud there is no point in even trying. Common summer . . . . . -
Time To Sell----Yet Again
Boomerang~Junkie replied to django49's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
Thank the stars above that you are NOT trying to sell the tiger eye Talladega Pro right now. After the lump cleared in my throat when I first read this posting - for a moment there I thought I was going to have to tell my wife that I'd bought another one - that thing is stunning. -
Awesome post - beautiful bass. You are both lucky to have had each other as brothers. I'm sure he's thrilled that its being cared for so well by his brother.

An abundance of studies and statistics show there is no “counseling” or “cure” to fix these evil monsters who walk amongst us and prey on our children. While I have absolutely no use for him, I feel sorry for his other band members who unknowingly associated themselves with this freakish douchebag (At least I pray they weren't aware of his atrocities). He has victimized them as well. High speed lead poisoning is much faster, cheaper and is PERMANENT. Because ~ no violent scumbags have ever escaped from a cemetery. Just something to consider . . . . . . -
Mr. Rectum-Trauma's "see other items" list reveals an alarming number of genuine, collectable type witchcraft and occult books for sale in his "store" . So I guess we'll know if someone here "crosses the line" with him if they wake up in the morning as a newt or some crazy shit like that . . . . (lions and tigers and bears). Good-fucking-grief, you couldn't make up shit this good if you tried.

Hold the phone Mable . . . . some of us are not remotely comparing apples to apples here. We’re not talking about Janis Joplin and she’s sure the heck not claiming or portraying herself to be that. She’s just a young lady playing an acoustic guitar in her dang bedroom. Does it help that she’s easy on the eyes – sure. But all of this needs to be kept in the proper perspective. Now, if this 17 year old young lady was instead a 27 year old seasoned artist, performing on a stage somewhere or trying to charge money as a paid professional – then fire away – its fair game. But to dissect a young adult’s musical talent to this level, who is just starting to cut her teeth in the music industry is pretty short sighted and comes across fairly harsh. YouTube is huge as a market place, but is also possibly the most brutal stage out there. It takes HUGE stones to post anything about you on it - for this exact reason - much less a damn music video of yourself. She’s pretty good by any standard and damn good for any seventeen year old (hooters or not). She has a couple dozen videos with tens of thousands of views on each one – so she’s doing more than a little something right. As for her not smiling or making the right faces when playing?!?!?! Good-f#@king-grief man, I’m lucky if I’m not involuntarily making crazy Michael Jordan tongue aerobic faces when I play something hard (for me) – so much for MY stage presence. And for what it’s worth, I’m pretty sure if I had been that talented a guitarist/musician when I was seventeen and looked that good (slim chance there), I would have stacked enough cash there would be no HFC threads about the “remaining four digit Standards out there”. Because I’d have a man-cave the size of a lumber mill and I’d already own every flippin’ four digit Standard that had popped up for sale and a couple a hundred of their Hamer USA friends to help fill it. Holy sh*t, would that make me a Hamer-hoarder? All cussing and discussing aside, I’m honestly just thrilled that someone in her generation is still very passionate about playing the guitar – period. Like most people, I wish her nothing but incredible success.

Dang Gorch, give a guy some warning. I was just scrolling through the thread and BOOM . . . like a pair of 36DD's in a tank top in the freezer section. Damn, I literally almost choked on a quesadilla. Damn that's insanely nice. Excuse me, I think I have a piece of chicken stuck in my nose . . . . .

I couldn't agree more with Coolfeel's post - he's dead on. After a buddy of mine played a Talladega Pro and LOVED IT. He could not stop raving about how nice it was and he's a fairly picky bastard ~ I was bit. After talking with some other guitar friends about it, I found out how few of the Talladega Pro's Hamer really made, I decided to buy one. Relying some on my buddies crazed, GAS lust for it and Hamer's reputation of making kick-ass guitars, I took a decent risk and bought my Talladega Pro (Washed Iced Tea) brand new from Willcutt without having ever played one. It was one of just a couple of Talladega Pro's they had in that huge factory purchase from Hamer. It's stunningly beautiful and immaculately well made, mild V neck - I just stared at it for quite a while before I played it. I didn't have any issues paying what I did for it brand new and Willcutt's folks are exceptionally good people to work with and they truly know their stuff. In short, YES, it plays unbelievably well and exceeded all of my expectations. So keep your camera out ~ if you can find one, I'd highly recommend it. I found the link to the Willcutt website for it: http://willcuttguitars.com/the-last-hamer-guitars/sold-hamer-guitars/hamer-talladega-pro-washed-iced-tea-408

DAMN, I also like this Cali / finish VERY much - but the BIN of $2267.00 beans, (US) WITHOUT shipping seems pretty steep even for that finish. I'd need him to send over one of the Lowenbrau girls along with it to make that sort of money work for me. Beyond ordering beer and trying to say hello to pretty ladies (and not getting slapped in the process ), my German pretty much sucks. So chalk one up for Google translator: This guitar is from the Hamer USA Custom Shop, built in 1989 - Serial number 922 996 - Great sound - Special Edition Snakeskin by Jim O Connor (signature on the back) - Ebony fingerboard with boomerang inlays - Floyd Rose Hamer - 1x Ultra Sonic (bridge) and 1x DiMarzio (neck) pickups The guitar is - according to the age - in a good condition, but there are minor paint damage. The neck has a small crack starting from the clamp, but this does not affect the feel or the sound (see photo). In the spring chamber a Rockinger Blackbox is installed, facilitates string changes and keeps the guitar in tune if a string in the middle of times tears song. Sustain and overtones of the guitar are high-end, as you would expect from a Hamer USA Custom Shop guitar. Superflat Action, best playability. A dream not only for collectors!

. . . . . . and the winner via the velvet sledge hammer smack-down is Dasein ! ! ! GREAT story/post. Thank you for sharing. -
I received my books Saturday and had such high expectations ~ that I even left the box sealed and let it acclimate to the house's temperature for a few hours just in case ! Seriously, the book is incredible and exceeded my already high expectations. The sucky part will be having to part with them for a brief time, while I send them off to be signed. You both should be very proud of your work - this history/story of this great company desperately needed to be thoroughly documented for posterity and then well told. You knocked it out of the park at both (I haven't read all of it yet). This book is AWESOME ! !

Happy Birthday Brandon - your dad is pretty darn proud of you too.
