JGale Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Apparently near me, next town over. Never heard of them until today http://www.uptownaudio.com/guitar/guitar.htm Hamer Centaura guitar with Floyd Rose tremolo - Hamer USA build in candy apple red finish. Fair overall condition, with a few crickles in the paint finish and some play wear going through the finish in the common spots revealing bare wood. This guitar is complete with all original Floyd Rose hardware (German made by Shaller) as well as original pickups and electronics. It has moderate fret wear and the back of the neck has most of the sticky poly finish removed and is sanded smooth for faster play and better feel.. The headstock is in great shape and is the nicer, and older USA style with HAMER USA stenciled on it. The serial number begins with 02, indicating 1990. Included is the HAMER USA hard shell case for its protection in shipping and for its storage. The case may have a few marks but functions perfectly. The controls feature a master volume, a tone control, and a coil tap selector switch. $695 The usual assistance in purchasing/shipping will be extended to HFC purchasers out of town.
WorstBandName Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Looks cool for not too much $$. Can you actually purchase and get shipped from that website? Looks like a portal back to 2006
JGale Posted July 13, 2024 Author Posted July 13, 2024 I have a few people I can ask about his integrity. I never heard of him in 14 years. I have one StewMac shipping box left.Â
Stike Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 What's the average going rate for a USA Centaura? That seems like a good deal.

Steve Haynie Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 I will be driving through that area at the end of the month if someone wants me to move it up or down the East Coast a little ways.

Seems like, at that price, some here would want it. Seems like an easy $700 flier on a likely cool guitar. As an East Coast (NJ) person, one of us should own this.
Jakeboy Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 What does the mini-switch do on the Cent? Blower? Coil-tap?

Bennyboy-UK Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 I quite like it - especially as it has Slammer SCs in it - which is a bit unusual. The only thing I dont like is the bridge pickup surround - but that my fussy pantsness - for the money - thats a steal! Â Â Â Â

It thought it was more of a mid-pass?, since it's passive?, the one on mine is very subtle. - Those are really great guitars, most often very lightweight too, Alder body it think. Looks like it could use intonating.Â
