This just got announced by Godin.  It comes in two versions; one with a double-locking Floyd, the other with a 2-point 'Vega' Trem:

LERXST Grace Floyd Rose | Godin Guitars

“It’s a beautiful instrument that suits many different styles of playing”: Lerxst celebrates 40 years of Rush’s Grace Under Pressure by unveiling Grace – a limited edition replica of Alex Lifeson’s Hentor Sportscaster | MusicRadar

At US$3999 for either one, would you really want/buy one?

Lifeson is one of my favorite guitarists and writers, not to mention he's funny as hell.  And I've got a bunch of Godin guitars and love them all.

But: 4K is a bit much for a guitar that they'd only charge $2500 (max) for before Alex's name is on it.

And if the guitar is called Grace (from the record Grace under Pressure), why are the guys doing the demo playing La Villa Strangiato?!?

And fer 4K, I want a matching F-ing headstock!

...OK, minor rant o'er.

I'm with you.  Nothing against Mojotone, but for 4k, they should've gotten Wilde Pickups to make L500 pickups for it.  For $4k, I'd want it to be just like what he played.  Otherwise, I could just buy parts and put one together.  Could've been the MulletCaster!

I like Alex and his guitar playing was/is real influential for me.  It seems like everything that's had his name on it over the years has been pricey.  Maybe Rush fans have a high income on average.  Dunno.  I'd be the one bringing that average down. 🙂

If I had the cash I'd pass on the red one and go white.  As a teenager in '86 my first super-strat was white Kramer Focus 3000, completely inspired by the picture of Alex Lifeson playing his white Sportscaster.

What single coils were in the original?

The (1973) OEM Fender singles, then DiMarzio singles around P/G - that's also when the Bill Lawrence L500L replaced the Gibson humbucker.
