Yes, been using them for years... they are absolutely great and make a difference... the only downside is "depending on the cable" it can be super hard to pull out... make sure your jack plate is secured well... can put stress on plastic plates

All of this.

The idea makes sense. But I've never had an issue with a Switchcraft #11 that a little press on the tab couldn't fix more or less permanently.

Very good point.  If the jacks and plugs are cleaned occasionally, contact spring tension is checked, and they're either Switchcraft or Neutrik premium components, the dual contact per leg design of the Puretone jacks wouldn't make any significant difference.  These are some of the best from Switchcraft for line/instrument level:  https://www.switchcraft.com/catalog/jacks-and-plugs/audio-jacks-and-plugs/1-4-jacks-and-plugs/    https://www.switchcraft.com/search/?keyword=1%2F4" jacks&n4=2     https://www.switchcraft.com/1-4-in-6-35mm-plugs/   Neutrik: https://www.neutrik.com/en/neutrik/products/plugs-jacks/plugs/professional-1-4-plugs   https://www.neutrik.com/en/neutrik/products/plugs-jacks/jacks

Pure-Tone also makes replacements for the Switchcraft 151/152 but I haven't tried them yet and can't say how good they are (I've got 4 or 5 Hamers with 151/152 problems gathering dust). I.fucking.hate.151s. I'm almost ready to bore out the barrel jack hole on my triple threat and slap a les paul jackplate onto it.

Anybody have an other good alternatives for barrel jacks before I break out the auger? Lol

It doesn't say anything about the barrel jacks being made that way. You'd think they would if they were.

From their site:
This new panel-mount jack boasts full contact for optimal signal and lowest possible noise. Greater surface area at all contact points creates a more stable connection, locking the cable securely in place and carrying more signal; as a result, high and low frequencies are greatly improved creating a much more balanced sound while eliminating frequency spikes. Most importantly, the Pure Tone Jack eliminates the infamous “crackle” noise caused by pressure grounds.

The real USA made 151 is rated for 10,000 cycles, so it should last a very long time.  I've never had single 151 failure since the late 70's, but if the mating plug isn't a genuine Switchcraft 250 or Neutrik NP2X you will see intermittent sound.  I've seen many knock-offs that are just a hair too short or thin that cause this.  Sam Ash "On Stage" brand cables were one example, as were Switchcraft AA3M and AA3F XLR connectors, and Neutrik Speakon knockoffs sold on Amazon were the innards fell out into the shell.

Thank you for the idea; got a couple 250's and NP2X's on the way from Amazon; hopefully they're not counterfeits.

Why aren't they all like that?

92% of early amp and guitar parts were sourced from military surplus.
manufactures just kept making them like they use to

Works very well in my Fender CS Stratocaster.

No more loss of signal especially when sitting down with the guitar (and putting some stress on the cable with the upper leg).

But it does not fit my Tally.
