Man, this thing just rings.  Was looking for a something to fill the "Strat" itch.  Yes, that does it...

Making a trip to Shishkov HQ was a bucket list item for me.  Mike and Trish are good people.  I already knew that, but meeting someone in the flesh (or "IRL", as the youngsters like to say, or "in 3D" as the really young "Zoom generation" likes to say) is a good thing.  Mike and Trish were gracious hosts and tolerated me blaring all sorts of bad notes and noises.   It was a blast.  : )

A few pics from the trip:

Better pics of the guitar to follow, and I have a few tucked away of the in progress pics I'll get up here as well.

Here's the specs:

  • Ash body
  • Contoured back
  • Figured Maple neck
  • Custom finish - Mike was very patient with me to get this one right...
  • 25 1/2" scale
  • Ebony fretboard with "bullseye" inlays
  • Gravelin pups - early Strat wind - he nailed it
  • Gotoh EV510T trem - I have this on #0053 and love it
  • Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony buttons
  • Electronics is a straight VT with a 5-way
  • Tele cup style output jack
  • Dunlop straplocks
  • Graphtech nut

This thing cuts like crazy.  Every note sounds like what I am expecting it to.  I may never go back to humbuckers. : )

Can't wait for our next rehearsal to hear it in the full group.  Next gig is way out in Oct, so no videos for a while.   : /

Excellent, a new Shishkov!!! Love the flamed maple neck. Reminds me of a Huber neck. Is Mike still doing the paint job in these too?

Great to see him in the photo (and his fabulous MIII 😉

Congrats on the guitar!

I'd call dibs, but I don't think I'd live long enough to see you ever get sick/tired of that beauty!

Congrats on everything about it.

Massive. : )  Similar to the neck on the Triple Threats.  Very comfortable in my hands.

I’ve never played a Triple Threat and it’s been a few years since I shook your hand. “Massive” gives me something to go on, though. 😉

: )

it's about 0.85" at the first fret and 1.00" at the twelfth. (and grows from there : )

add on that it's a wide board: 1.75" at the nut.

overall, a nice full feel.

Beautiful ‘kov, @veatch! 0117 will have some similarities to yours. It looks like what I am sure it is…the perfect Strat type.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

I seem to have depleted my adjectives, but...WHOAH!

I was going for something in between a Strat and a Gretsch and an LP with my #0066, but I think you've upped the ante there, Jef!!

Killer guitar - enjoy it in good health, sir!! 🤘

Great pics of a killer guitar.  I like how there's a gtr wall hanger 12 or so feet up on the living room wall.  I wonder what lives up there.
