That’s the Vintage S I would get if I was in the market for one. Bridge humbucker and vintage vibrato…  🤤

I always thought these guitars were sexy looking. But with all that maple it’s gotta be as shrill as a dog whistle.

Yup.  And heavy as hell in almost every case.

Wow that is a great looking "S". Back when I first joined the HFC i REALLY wanted one of those, but I picked one up at a music store here in Minnesota and it was a tank. I had a great Gibson L-5S at one point...........I actually own 2 of them and they like this model were all maple, heavy and were a very bright sounding guitar.

I've got a Frankenstein Vintage S (orig body w/vintage Schecter solid rosewood neck) that is not heavy at all.

I wouldn't consider mine heavy at all. At my age. I would really notice it if it was.  The one I have really hasn't bothered me at all.  I also don't think it's overly bright. I have a full maple Vintage S and a full maple Californian, and neither of them I would consider necessarily bright.  They cut through the mix, that's for sure. : )

I'm pulling the Gravelins out of the ventage S and restoring it back to original. I may sell it, not because I don't like it: quite the opposite. But I got Shishkov 0100 which scratches the same itch, so it may go.

The Californian has been a regular staple at gigs for the past few years.

Oh Bollocks - I would have loved to buy that one if I'd seen it and it was pretty.

Neither of mine Vintage Ss are heavy or shrill thankfully - I'd generally like more of them.

I thought all this was gone over before about 15-20 years ago here. Yes, I know some of you may not have been around here yet. I thought Hamer sourced a different species/variety of maple which wasn't quite the same as the maple most people used? I have an '89 all maple Chap Custom which is a little bit heavier but I wouldn't call the tone shrill but "defined".

Vintage S's always look great but have never played one.

The Ash Hamer used on Daytonas was as heavy as anyone else's Ash I can tell you that for sure. Great sounding, sustain etc just heavy though.

There may be one in front of you, but I'll put you in the list. : )

I can't remember if that was me or not!

I've pretty much propositioned EVERY Vintage S owner globally with my wiles and seductive technique.

It has in fact worked on more than one occasion too!
