burningyen Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Still available:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=7397923478$1,999 + shippingThere are a few micro-dings that I am unable to capture on camera. Only trade I would consider would be a Strat-type 3 single-coil guitar with 22 frets. I need a gig back-up for my '57 RI.
MCChris Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Incredibly, bump. No shit. Rock bottom price for that one.
silentman Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Incredibly, bump. No shit. Rock bottom price for that one. Yeah, considering the ultimate binding was AT LEAST that much of an upcharge.
edgar_allan_poe Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 The pics do not do this guitar justice. This guitar is the best looking hamer I have ever seen....hands down. The combination of the blank board and the insane binding is absolutely stunning.
Guest pirateflynn Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 I agree. A great looking guitar and I bet it sounds awesome with the Sustainblock.
peedenmark7 Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 on an upcoming hamer custom, the upcharge for ultimate binding on my vector is $1900 alone..
Punkavenger Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 the real question is ... if this is the guitar you're getting rid of, essentially the least liked of the lot, what the hell are the other guitars you have like?MY GAWD MAN!and your address please(really, one of my all time favs)
burningyen Posted July 14, 2006 Author Posted July 14, 2006 What I'm keeping (as far as electrics):-Hamer "BCR" Jr.-Hamer 25th Anniversary-Fender Muddy Waters Tele-Fender '57RI StratAs you can see, they're all very different, and in no way, shape or form do I think that any of them are better than the Special. My Strat is getting 99% of my playing time these days because I'm playing in a Pink Floyd cover band. I'm really just in life simplification mode right now and have always hated having a lot of $$$ locked up in stuff that isn't being used. I'm also selling off a bunch of random computer stuff on ebay (username: burningyen-at-yahoo).My e-mail is burningyen at yahoo in case anyone wants to get in touch.
Guest pirateflynn Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Are there side position markers for the fretboard? Thanks.
serial Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Hate to say it, but those pics, as lovely as they are, barely do this guitar justice. If I wasn't being super-disciplined and biting the inside of my lip daily when I see these posts, I'd have gone for this one, but I'm not adding any Hamers to the stable until I pick up one or two other things that I've been putting off for a long time. This guitar is spectacular among Hamers.
Buzzy Fretts Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 ditto. I've seen ben play this live. and in the stage lighting, it was the coolest understated gem of a beauty - simple front but the inlays shine like rainbows. I'm in no position to buy, damnit. its one of the few I'd consider at this point.
MCChris Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Yep, there are sidedots. Wimp. Doing my damndest to resist pulling the trigger on this one myself.
sirDaniel Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Yep, there are sidedots. Wimp. Doing my damndest to resist pulling the trigger on this one myself. YOU? not! way too much bling; not enough rust/tarnish.
MCChris Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 YOU? not!way too much bling; not enough rust/tarnish. From Ben's eBay description:Excellent condition, although the frets have tarnished a little over the past year. You're right, it's not enough, but it's a start!
burningyen Posted September 7, 2006 Author Posted September 7, 2006 I've edited the listing for possible trades.
saxmanjack Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Are sustain block bridges still available as a special order? Same geometry as a TOM, or do the strings end up a little closer to, and more parallel to the body?
Guest pirateflynn Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I'm not sure of the answers to your questions but that guitar is about as cool as it gets.
burningyen Posted September 20, 2006 Author Posted September 20, 2006 I believe they are still available for custom orders. Don't know the answer to the neck angle question.
Mr Fuzzy Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Sweet Guitar. And, you are in NYC I am so tempted to check it out in person. If I didn't just pay my quarterly taxes, (ouch) I would be into it.
