Jeff R Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I have for trade a theft-deterrent package for your cherished 4x12 cabinet. Screw these devices onto your prize Marshall, Boogie, Vox, Bogner, whatever cab, and you can rest assured it will be safe and snug in your rehearsal space, recording studio or on stage during unsupervised load-ins, set breaks and load-outs. This particular package is optimized for 4x12 cabinet theft protection but it works just as well for keeping a 2x12, a 4x10, or any cab for any guitar or bass rig safe and sound and untampered with. Actually, this theft deterrent package will protect pretty much any guitar and/or bass head or combo, or rack mount effects, or pretty much anything musical to which you attach it. Testing has indicated this theft deterrent system is especially effective on guitar headstocks, hardshell guitar cases, acoustic drums and solid-state amplifiers that say "Bandit" on the face plate. This package is the "Sheffield-equipped" theft deterrent system but it can be optimized with a "Scorpion-equipped" upgrade, readily available on eBay and/or your amp technician's spare parts bin. Ideally, I would like to trade this theft deterrent system for a used but decent medium-output neck position humbucker, like a Dimarzio PAF or a Duncan '59, that someone just has lying around and absolutely no use for. Not picky on condition or length of leads (I can fix that), it just has to work. I'll cover shipping on the pickup too if need be, and I'll even return it to the original owner should he discover a need for it in the future. However, I understand the true market value of this kit, so I'd be willing to take used guitar strings, cracked/chipped guitar picks, a shorted out guitar cable, a beer-stained set list, a roll of duct tape or an equivalent musical item. For non-musical item trades, a couple of handfuls of your leftover Halloween candy would suffice. Interested parties can e- me at natchbureau AT hotmail DOT com
cmatthes Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Great post!Any favorites in the way of Halloween candy?(ha ha)
kizanski Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Reesh - are you particular about covered/uncovered, black, creme, zebra, etc?I might have a covered '59 or a double-black something-or-other (you know how good the "something-or-other's" are) in the parts bin.
MCChris Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 This, of course, is the DELUXE amp theft deterrent system: The downside is that it also deters musicians.
kurtsstuff Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Don't be hatin on Hartley......but...gotta admit...it is funny...lol!

mc2 Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Say what you want about Peavey but a few things I WILL say in Hartley's defense: There's NOT many US music equipment manufacturers that are still owned by their founders and not gobbled up by bigger corporations. I spent a good number of years as the editor of major music industry magazines and also the TV news guy at the NAMM shows and Hartley was always the number one, no BS interview who I could count on to speak his mind on any aspect of the MI industry (and other topics)...no matter where the chips would fall or whose feathers he'd ruffle. When I took over publishing a couple of industry magazines Peavy made sure to throw major advertising support my way even after their annual budget had already been appropriated. I even put on a mini-trade show in the late 90s in tandem with one of the music conferences for musicians and Peavy trucked down a shitload of new gear for musicians to try out....and let me give ALL of it away! The guy does a LOT of good and a lot of his stuff over the years HAS been good bang for the buck and, at times, even innovative. Hell, he even invited me to go scuba diving in the Bahamas on his yacht (no, didin't go..) (Oh...for the record, the other U.S. guy who ALWAYS matched Peavey on ALL of the above major support was Bill Kaman & company. Thanks guys.) Um...but....I DID buy a solid-state Peavey bass amp in the early 80s that I hated so much that I sold it after two weeks and went back to my Sunn heads
